It is a bit nuts though, you have to think it could be more efficient. Some days there are 5 or 6 vans down our street dropping off a few parcels each, and next day delivery means they have to drive almost the whole round every day instead of batching areas.

Yeah often wondered about that seems very inefficient suppose the alternative is just have only one - Royal mail like it used to be ?

Seems milage driven could/would be greatly reduced?

This time of year it seems that these firms take alot of new drivers on for the run up to Xmas. We can usually get 3 drivers a day bringing new from dpd  alone. Then all of a sudden we're getting six drivers bringing a couple of packages from the same consignment. Had a new driver recently from another firm who kept leaving all the boxes about 3" outside the goods in door, which opens outwards. He wouldn't let anyone know that he'd been and they would be sat there what ever the weather until someone let us know. This was usually another courier as they couldn't get in. Another problem is the amount of stuff we get that has been ordered online. They just see a Stihl or Husqvarna box and presume it's ours, even when the address can be 20 miles away. We've even get other dealerships orders now and then.

Since I was going past the drop off shop I stupidly used Evri to send a parcel.

On 23rd August it was being transferred to local courier for delivery. Two hours later, tracking said 24hr delay.

Since then nothing and there's more chance of speaking to the captain of the Marie Celeste than reaching a human at Evri. Fobbed off by automated responses repeatedly.

You should try out with a foreign one Stubby, helpfully they revert to their native language as soon as you find it so you know instantly when you've stumbled upon the right bit!

Thanks for the " top tip " 👍
