What are scrap prices doing in the last few days?

 

I’ve just been given an 8 yard skip full of electric motors, I’ll have a ring around in the morning, just wondering what prices are like atm.

Judging by the amount of machinery and tool thefts recently I’d guess they’re fairly low.

I prices aren’t right I might leave it because it’s all handball from skip to truck unless I can find a forklift driver on the industrial estate that wants a decent drink.

Gypo lot are around every week they normally go quiet when prices are down.

Non ferrous seems to be ok but the light / mixed is £120 ton heavy / plate & gurder is £160 so shite tbh

That doesn’t sound to bad, all the yards want is the copper windings out of motors.

Got 70 a ton for light iron this week from EMR so really not worth the bother. Rolled Ali at 700 and household cable at 1770.

Only really clear stuff for customers when asked and a couple of mates drop me some non ferrous occasionally. Keeps me ticking over when the weather isn’t conducive to working

Took a load of my mates from his work in on Saturday,  £115 a ton for light iron. Truck load of that and a handful of batteries and cable Took it to just over 200 quid, can't really grumble at that as he'll have sorted it all out in work time 😀 😆

An 8 yard skip full of electrical motors will be more than worth your time to handball.
