I explained to the original poster what inflation is not what causes it.  I also explained the consequences of inflation, as clearly Mr Eggs wanted to understand that better.

Printing extra money (Quantitative Easing) is not far short of legalised theft, and I agree is likely to create inflation eventually.  Also current inflation is caused my Brexit, the Ukraine war, and other factors.

I don't know anyone that's had a 9.4% pay rise.

And that is the risk - if our pay rises do not keep pace with inflation we lose out.  To be fair we have had low inflation for most of the last thirty years and wage rises have in most sectors far outstripped inflation - now the reverse is likely to happen.

Pensioners will be fine - they really will get a rise the same as inflation (well the state element anyway).

Inflation explained here......

As for low wages alot of factors:

Weak trade unions, pound has devalued against euro and dollar esp  since brexit low productivity due  lack of investment poorly skilled workers etc.

UK has had the lowest wage growth in western europe for yrs and lowest salary when adjusted for  cost of living

The slavers want you to think inflation is some complicated thing about the price of milk so you don’t realise, firstly, that it’s them causing it and, secondly, how harmful it is. Here, the guy who causes inflation (by printing money) says he’s going to act forcefully to tackle it. He could start by not causing it in the first place. Deceitful scum.

Once you get it, every article you see that blames it on Brexit, sunny weather, myxomatosis, the Jews, Wimbledon attendance etc will leap out at you as the bullshit it is.

It's a good job Corbyn didn't get in, he'd have dragged us back to the seventies with spiralling inflation energy costs going through the roof and strikes here there and everywhere. Oh hang on.

It's really one of the reason Bitcoin came about - all currencies in the end go to nothing. Because the power to print ££ is in the hands of people that should not have that power. No one entity should be 'in charge'. It should be like Gold where is a finite supply that can't be made up by someone.

In the end the debt is inflated away - all the sensible hard working people who put money aside for their older years lose the value of that money. It's theft.
