Borax has been banned in the UK for years.

It's not banned in UK you can buy it on ebay in many different quantities, I've bought it a fair bit as one of it's many other uses is to prevent mould growing on fresh milled timber although there IS the threat of that, it is banned for sale to the public in various other countries and there is an agenda.

Anyway there's loads of folk who've got arthritis singing it's praises online.. fixed my tennis elbow into the bargain.

I bought a box full of Borax a couple years back on eBay. For wood preservation, specifically to try to stop or minimise woodworm attack. (Still not got round to using it). I never thought to use it as a medicine, though I remember reading at the time that there are hundreds of uses for it around the house, a lot of them cleaning related.
I think there's evidence, or a suspicion at least that it's harmful for young and unborn children.

I don’t make the rules mate.

I only know this because I used to find it effective for treating mould.

I tried to buy some recently and found out it had been banned.

Loads of stuff for sale is Borax substitute.

Ebay. Mmmmm. The thieves friend.

Selling stolen gear is banned in the UK, but Ebay don’t seem to mind….

Yep, the main scare tactic that's used to put folk off from using it is that it causes infertility, as far as I can tell from looking into that I've found that it's not true.

Even if it were, most folk with arthritis are beyond caring about fertility and just need relief from a chronic condition.

It's a common salt half as lethal as Sodium Chloride, table salt.

It's one of the essential micro-nutrients essential to all mammalian life.

It's had dozens of uses since it's discovery in the 1800's.

It's uptake to our systems is through vegetables should which take it up from soil at about 4-6 ppm.

It's spread on farmers fields to bolster depletion in certain crops

It's used in the construction of every cell in our bodies.

It's demonised by pharma who don't want an alternative to there trillion dollar pain industry.

It's known that artificial fertilisers [ from said pharma ] reduce the uptake of this essential salt by veggies.

And yes..

It's a conspiracy that's been going on since the 60's.

Why would you want a substitute anything? .. we all know that the real thing is usually better at the job, creosote and white spirit for instance.

And as far as Ebay is concerned, It's mostly new stuff that I buy from online traders and in near 1000 purchases only 3 or 4 have gone wrong and all were resolved painlessly.

I'm  more than happy to discuss this subject in as much detail as I can with anyone that's interested, and I do understand folks unwillingness to believe that Pharma doesn't ' have their backs ' but maybe the events of the past 2 years put that notion a wee bit more into perspective.

are you referring to turmeric, if so why not if you are on blood thinners?

I am in the habit of using it generously in curries.

Turmeric thins the blood, so if you were on warferin, you wouldn't want to be taking the capsules that are available or substantial quantities daily without medical supervision  but I don't see the odd few grams on a curry being an issue. I do take the capsules but up till now my blood seems ok thankfully
