Back to co-op soon as then! Demand will be off the scale! I’ll save mine for ya! emoji6.pngemoji16.png

They did,nt have any Cornflakes, due to a HGV driver shortage which is all down to some bright spark altering the laws on trailer towing in the 90s which is now coming to light, and all boils down to the same old thing, MONEY,

I cannot tell you how happy I am to see third tier dolescum like you sweating about this. You just can't stand that the Westminster thieves have backed off people who actually perform productive work for once and have stripped hanger-on losers like you of some crumbs. Please share any hardship you experience with the forum.

Bit harsh.

I'm glad to see the back of trailer tests, but there's no need for digs like that.

Justme, I wish you well for the future. When one door closes another one opens and all that.

Lets all hope that you all dont get legislated out of a job / owning a company with 10 days notice........

How many people on other business sectors have experienced the same due to Covid? Yet instead of ten days, for many it's been a long, drawn out process- stop start, yes you can, no you can't, borrowing desperately to pay the commercial landlord. We've not yet seen the scale of defaults on the CBILs in particular, and you can bet that currently there are families falling apart over the borrowing.

If you are an ADI then you will never be short of work. Or there's always firewood processing. You know, actualy productive work.

A trifle harsh I feel.

Knowing at least 1 local individual who left a well paying job at Greenmount to set up as a trainer, mostly on Ag related stuff. He was young, personable and knew his stuff, I used him for training at work, he tailored the various Lantra(I believe it was) units to best fit our needs.

Others were less assidious or hardworking.

My constant gripe was the 100% rubber stamp pass rates for most of this mandatory training, and "they" wondered why accidents caused by lack of cognative function continued to occur.

Again I witnessed trainers instructing candidates as to which box to tick(multiple choice questions) to "pass".

For the herbicide application qualification, hey, its only dangerous chemicals he will be working with.

Never mind the digger "training" that consisted of at least 50% tea breaks, interspersed with shite lacklustre instruction.

BUT

Essentially ALL Government driven by needless mandatory tick-box training regulations.

P.S.

Apart from "Ye canny fix stupid",

my other go-to phrase that describes so much Government/Council run shite is

"Lets all pretend"

La-la-la

Best trailer training in the world is on my drive. It’s narrow, off a single track road with low walls either side of it, it’s uphill, on an adverse camber and there’s only just enough room to get a big trailer and motor round it!
I don’t think any training or qualifications would prepare someone for it. But from the practice I’ve had with it, I have the confidence to reverse my trailer safely into any space I need.
Basic training is always a good idea, but it’s the practical application - and regular use, that teaches more. For example I understood the principles of what to do if you get a blow out on a trailer tyre, but until it happened to one of the tyres on my twin axle, I didn’t know how I would react to it. It’s not something you can simulate

Couldn't agree more about regular use, I used to tow on a daily basis years back and reversing was second nature. I very rarely tow now and have to really concentrate  if I need to get a trailer into a tight space.

One of the nastiest most unwarranted shitposts I have seen on here for a good while.
