I imported this jonco tracked chipper direct from China. I think it was a bit over 3k with shipping and vat at import. Not had chance to use properly.

Any time on this yet?

Re: Jo-Beau M300 Peds was asking me about on the pottering about thread. Got the bolt out of the drum with magnet on a stick. The bolt was stuck between the end of the drum and the sidewall of the chamber. The bolt was to fat to get in between the drum's circumference and the chamber wall. All back together and running nicely. In terms of mobility it is very good. It is 28 inches across the outer walls of the tyres, and 41 inches from the far end of the tyre to the front handle, when the hopper is hinged up into the vertical position. The machine comes with a fixed side discharge shute as standard, but I have fitted the optional high rotating spout. With this option you would need to undo 3 bolts to take the top part of the spout off to allow the hopper to get into vertical mode - very quick to do and makes it so easy to get through tight spaces. Two old codgers can lift it over steps if we have to, younger blokes would find it easier. See photo for more info.

Just a quick blast with some small diameter stuff - it is pretty impressive the speed of it. However I do need to test on some bigger stuff. Tree work taken a backseat at moment...

The gear box is a bit iffy- selection temperamental.

It's a real dilemma isn't it, 3 grand on a Chinese tracked yoke like that, or 3 grand on a European pair of wheels that you have to lug around yourself... obviously build quality and warranty of a Euro machine has to be considered, but it's tricky maths.

Second hand Greenmech cs100 for your 3k, then a second hand muck truck for circa £1500 to tow it with. Both the same width, will go a lot of places, and doesn't leave a mark turning on grass unlike tracks. Only takes a second to untich the chipper and use the muck truck for carting chips/logs about! :bandit:

2 machines that are built for professional use. Lets see if Pete B presses the "like" button for this post :w00t:

I'll press like for sure. I'm lucky enough to have found a secondhand M500 for 3k, then got muck truck with greedy boards which carries a lot of chip with almost no effort.

I've just bought a new electromagnetic clutch, the date label on the old one 2001. Will you be able to get spares for the Chinese one in 20 years time?
