Labours Rates?

Hi All,

Could I please ask the going rate for some help with my firewood proccesing?

Day rate ?loading the proccesor,splitting logs on the tractor log splitter,bagging some kindling ect.

Only really a casual job for a month or two,until my Sons back on the scene.

As with any rates its regional, it would depend on whether your yard is in central London or on the west coast of Ireland.

Quite but in an earlier post he said just up the M40 in Bucks.

 

I'd guess for someone who knows a bit about what they are doing who's at a loose end about £120/day for 8 hrs including travel.

I would say £10 an hour for casual labour in mid Wales but it's going to vary massively by area, age and experience.

Depends entirely on what your labourer is like, useless bugger probably less than a tenner then tell him to do one, grafter, 14-15 quid at least, cheap workers ain’t good, good workers ain’t cheap.

For someone 18 and older £9.30/hr Real Living Wage outside London area (ref. Real Living Wage Foundation), if self-employed labour only £12/hr, no problem getting someone to work for these rates at the moment, working a 7.5 hr day.

My starting rates for ground crew are 140 per day. Most of them are on 150/160 per day.

£36k pa.   Imagine there'd be a queue miles long if that job was advertised here

The "money" does not always get you a decent labourer, plenty of clock watching media junkies and  phone/text addicts on top money for not doing a lot.

Yup, tons round here. Hopefully the coming winter will thin them out a bit- nothing like widespread job losses to sharpen the appreciation of what you have.
