i spotted two defender badged

vehicles yesterday ?

 

are they for sale now or were they press

ones ?

Saw one the other week doing the school run only long wheelbase ones for sale at mo. 

With no badges it looks like a land rover when you see one for real.

The 110 defender is an amazing car to drive, been using one through covid work and boy i love it.  Fully loaded so all the options i reckon.   ultra comfy and nice to drive.  goes like a rocket ship and stops like somebody tied it to bowels of earth,   a big step on brakes is frankly brutal but works.

 

8 speed auto is incredible, very nice to shuffle around town in or boot on twisty roads.

It looks like the love-child of a Range Rover and a Skoda Yeti.

 

I think the gap in the market that someone needs to exploit is for a rugged practical well designed vehicle that is a bit more back to basics.  There are already countless luxury off road vehicles including Range Rover, Evoque, Disco, plus offerings from virtually every other manufacturer that exists now.

 

No one is offering a simple rugged well built vehicle.  The major purchasers of these vehicles as far as I am aware are utility companies and military.  Do they really want all that style and comfort?

 

A good chassis and power train, coupled with a practical versatile body and reasonable comfort inside.  Focus on durability and reliability and repairability and it would sell to the world.

 

But then again are Land Rover actually capable of manufacturing a reliable vehicle?

With the exception of the comfort my ex mod V8 110 had those attributes, never let me down.

As long as it’s built in Britain otherwise it’s just yet another kick in the  balls for UK manufacturing.
