Interesting, I've been dead against one but this changes things.

 

How much can you make in a batch and how long does it take?

 

I was looking into getting a dehydrator but for the price of the Foodi Max i might as well go for that instead

I usually buy one of the largest joints I can get in Tesco and do the whole lot in one go. It’s more than they recommend as they say to put a single layer on the tray, whereas mine often overlap. Takes 7-8 hours

Oh, and of course an additional 24 hours to marinade prior

They shrink as they dry anyway, just needs a bit of peeling apart and turning occasionally. As long as they aren't mashed in six deep.

I've made jerky in a dehydrator. I made about 250g worth (unmarinaded weight) which filled one shelf of the dehydrator. My dehydrator has 6 (or possibly 8 ) shelves, so could do a fair amount at once. It was really nice jerky, I should make it again...

23:16 and I've just seen off the second of two extremely oily sandwiches. The greenest things I've eaten today are the capers and pumpkin seeds in a pair of bacon and cream cheese rolls. Dill in both, pepper in one, chili flakes in the other.
