Who are people insuring their machines with?

Arborisk have quoted me an extra £750 pa on top of my existing policy.

The wording is in insurance speak, I need to call them and check I’m covered for theft, fire, damaging the machine on site, or during transportation.

Another pick from yesterday's job. Its impressive what this little machine will shift even without additional back weights.  The timber grab being a manual rotation is a bit of a faff but it keeps the front weight down.

Id say anyone looking at the narrow Sherpa should pay the bit extra and get the  small / yellow one over the agri version unless like myself you get offered a really good price on an Agri bit that says the Agri is decent enough!

I cocked up on moving it though.

The cheapo trailer I bought just isn’t man enough, and the ramps I’ve got need beefing up.

Would have been better off splashing out that cash on decent 10’ ramps like Doobin suggested, at least until I can afford a proper plant trailer.

Still, we got home.

The lads loved the machine, pretty easy to get to grips with.

(Yes, I obviously lifted the arse end into the air testing the capacity!)

I got one at the start of the year, very happy with it too. We got the bucket and tines rather than log grab.

I had one scary moment going down a ramp with the bucket high (empty), thought it was going to tip on me. Note to self, be careful on slopes due to the short wheelbase.

Yep, our backs are lovin' it!

That trailer is a joke though mark.

What’s wrong with the trailer? My Sherpa is a perfect fit in the 750kg trailer like that. It’s ideal if you need to take it to site to collect a load of something- leaves the truck free for the muck. Or if you need the Sherpa but also need to take materials.

I'd definitely put one in a 750kg trailer,  especially as it could be a handy site barrow pulled by the sherpa, but that one in the picture does look a bit 'hammered together kitkat wrapper'😅😅

But if it works, it works👍

I get the tools and plant through Trust, they seem to just take a percentage of the value to work out premium and so pro rata mine is probably around that sort of level, that would be 5% of 15k (guessing cost there)  Having said that, I had 2 claims in less than 2 years so I'm not on the best rate.
