What are your thoughts on the Stihl 2in1  chain sharpener .  Can they be used on FULL chisel and SEMI Chisel chains.

Any info much appreciated.

If the sharpener has already been discussed please  direct  me to the  topic/thread to avoid  repetition.Thank you.

Have one for each saw and i think its amazing but like everything some will
Moan that you shouldn’t need it and do it the “old way” makes sharpening very very quick i live mine and you cant really get the angles wrong

Do you use it successfully on a full chisel chain?

Got one i use on my bigger saw running a full chisel as it’s quicker for sure, means i’m more likely to spend 5 mins sharpening rather than just lazily swap a chain out.
Will be getting more for the other chain options once i use my the existing files etc

The angles and depth gauge are the same between semi and full chisel Stihl chains so I can't see a reason it won't work for both.

To me they look expensive but no real harm giving it a try, see if it works for you. I know some people have raved about them to me.

All
Ours are full chisel and work well also find the chain lasts longer as it seems to maintain it better but that might be just my imagination. Things progress and for me this is one of those things

I like mine. Tried various guides over the years and this one is the best IMO. Having two points of support makes sure that the side plate angle is always spot on and then it's a bonus to do the rakers at the same time but I like to take them down more than the 2in1 lets you as the teeth get shorter
