Big (but not MASSIVE) chippers

As the Timberwolf 250 has been productive, providing the 90 odd hp Kubota has been looked after, keeping it running would cost thousands in having obsolete parts manufactured. Maybe 7 thousand would buy a good few more years with the mighty 250

Plenty of 90hp tractors around with 10,000 hours

@Mike Hill has a 340. Used it a few times, but many years ago, swing away engine seemed good for maintenance.

 Think it’s only really Jensen, Schliesling and maybe TP that offer compact big chippers

 

 

Any opinions on these @PeteB?

As you said it "if money was not in the equation!" Some £80+k there!!!

 

Morbark had a massive cash investment to increase productivity etc, to make them really attractive and The Alamo Group acquired them recently. Decent big stuff, not good in the European size, towed etc. Stuff from the west tends to be like that I find....they don't do good machines to suit the mass market here.

Iirc there was a guy on here a little while back who was an (prospective) agent for Europe for Mobark, he put up the range of smaller chippers, they were really heavy, big and gutless in comparison to European manufacturers, don’t know what happened to him or them.
