Personally cant really see the market for it. Late Defender sales were low, folk / farmers had already moved to Pick-ups and a new ones can be had for 20k. This Ineos is rumoured to be starting at 35k. I good truck no doubt and could be a great tool for a tree surgeon when second hand. Largely the style of person who likes beam axles, external door hinges and basic mechanical vehicles likes to repair it themselves. A BMW unit with a 8 speed auto box isn't to be messed with by a hobby driveway tinkerer and isn't usually spending 35k upwards on a brand new vehicle. They're happy cruising around in a 1995 Defender.

It maybe basic, functional and easy to repair all over the world. But they'll need a fast worldwide parts supply to compete with the likes of Toyota.

Interested to see how it pans out for them.

I think it will do well, there definitely after the Aussie market as the 79 series Hilux is very popular over there, world wide there is a massive market it’s just that LR never moved it on enough for the mass market to warrant it. This will iron out the short falls of the defender , it’s wider, longer with more room, bigger windscreen far better engines etc etc, love my puma but this is what LR should of done instead of the Pepper pig “Defender” they have come up with.

They will have to make sure they use dissimilar metals (aircraft aluminium and steel) so that they cause each other to rust.  That was genius from Land Rover.

The real genius was their tracking system.

Just follow the trail of oil until you arrive at where the thief was forced to abandon it due to mechanical failure!
