Bilking, don't worry

On Friday I topped up with diesel at the local Tesco, then thought, or didn't think, it would be a good idea to drive off without paying?‍♂️, I realised the error of my ways when I was 150 miles away. I rang Tesco and told them what I'd done... forward to today, go into the petrol station and admit my sins, they'd got the vehicle, but no registration number. They let me pay and that's the end of it, so, if you want to pinch fuel Tesco in Sudbury is the place to do it...

This goes back to a post I made last week, my brother was coming over. I know most of you won't believe it but some things play on my mind. This was one of those times. I simply forgot to pay for my fuel because my brain was working overtime.

I picked up the wrong card recently before going to get diesel ,our toddler plays with our old out of date cards and I accidently took this. Got my diesel went to pay and it did not work , the cashier said I have to wait at the petrol station for a debt recovery company to come which can take upto an hour and it will include a charge of £10.I only got a tenners worth of diesel to start with.

I said here are my details, I will be back in a minute with my in date card , she said I cannot do that I must wait...I said call the police if you have to but I am going, went...came back 5minutes later and paid. What muppet would wait.

I've realised I had no wallet on me before after filling up before.  They took my details and said that they'd report me to the cops as as drive away if I didn't square them up in 24hrs. That was at a shell garage. Most garages will take payment over the phone too.

If the garage make an agreement with you to come back and pay, and you dont, this is then a civil recovery not a criminal act, same as if there is no "dishonesty" at the time of making off, most Police forces classs as a civil debt rather than a criminal offence, may get recorded but not investigated it is up to the fuel provider to chase via civil courts.
