No,  I got pulled off the M6 north of Birmingham in a Police/Vosa check with a Disco and IFW 10 foot box trailer,   they said 35 miles if on buisness ( I sell and deliver stoves and cookers)  That was about 2014 time though hence I figured maybe things have changed.  My brothers are farmers and pull bigger cattle trailers with no tacho as they are exempt.

It used to be 50kms/35miles till 2013 but as you were delivering goods  that exemption would not have applied. The dealer that delivered our chippers was caught and had to fit a tacho to his discovery.

My local mower retailer got fined £2.5k for delivering mowers on a twin axle trailer pulled by a 4 door pick up without tacho.

I’ve been pulled there too. They have a ‘weigh in motion’ trap there.

When I 'visited' you drove slowly over a set of rollers,  but my axles on the trailer were to close together for them to get a reading.  Once I told them I only had 400 kg on board they lost interest saying 'we can see by the springs you are not overloaded'.

I am very doubtful that it is easy to just declare a vehicle as "agri " spec ...also you are not using it for agriculture ......Arb and Forestry are quite different !  definitely so as far as red diesel is concerned !!!

We used to fill the chipper with red until the garage with the pump closed in Westbourn .
