Drying cupboard for kit

Afternoon gents. It's Monday and my kit is soaked. The idea of putting on a soggy harness and wringing prussik gravy out off my sleeves afterwards it's making me want to take a bath with a toaster.

Thinking of knocking up a drying cupboard for wet kit on the outside of my garage. Just some marine ply with a vent and some kind of heater. Bit stuck on the heater part though. Needs to be fairly low draw but enough to dry a wet climbing kit overnight. Any ideas?

I have a cupboard big enough for a load of washing to fit on airers, it has the central heating and water pipes pass through it (by chance). I sit a £150 delonghi dehumidifier set to half way on the dial and it dries most things in 12 hours. If chainsaw trousers didn't dry I would just add a small electric heater.

I had a larger one built at the old firm with an electric heater and bigger dehumidifier and that dried about 3 men's gear over night but I drained the condensate outside via a pipe to avoid emptying the tank.

I find this much easier on the clothes than a tumble dryer with no lint produced (or catch fire)

Overland build/modify arb trucks, one of which they do has heated tool lockers on the back so your kit is dry by the time you get back to the yard. Not cheap i imagine.

Now if money were no object...

Good shout!

You'd also have a naked Newton in the cab with you in the way home Marc, so that's probably a bad idea.

It happens anyway if I've had more than a couple of beers after work.
