Is it cos the worm drive that turns the oil pump only turns one way?

Dunno really, just speculation.

It will turn both ways but will only push oil out going forward . For sharpening it does not matter one way nor the other .

For some reason I have never thought about how I move a chain when sharpening.

If i over think it I will fck it up, so I will try to make a conscious, unconcise effort to find out what I do!

Im hedging my bets that I sharpen a tooth then move it forward, but I can also see myself thinking that is a waste of effort and just drag it back on the last stroke.

Hit the like if you want to follow and give me a shout in the subs.
