Out of interest how many are using 1.5ton digger with a grapple attachment? A lot cheaper method than a avant or multione.

In practise they are very different machines. I have a 1.7t mini with a grapple and it's great for stacking logs, postioning stones/kerbs or loading a trailer but it's not great for shifting material more than a few metres. If you need to pick something up, take it 10+ metres, drop it in a vehicle and repeat 25 times you will find the compact loader vastly more efficient. That said they are pretty pricey bits of kit so you obviously have to have the work.

I currently run a muck truck alongside my mini digger and have a 3t linde forklift back at the yard so hard to justify the extra spend for the time being.

The digger with a grab or thumb is an option.

If you can get the truck close enough for loading it's a real time/back saver. (As in this pic)

I've all but stopped using mine since I got the compact tractor with a grab.

It opened my eyes to hydraulic assistance though!

Diggers are a cheap option but one down side I have come across is as soon as you take them on a large commercial site they want the cpcs for it but never seem to ask for a mini loader.

Stv36 (apologies for yet another picture!)

I very nearly pulled the trigger for a Giant telescopic loader, which would be better, but not €30000 better.

End of this year maybe.

What was your opinion on Giant loader build quality.

The Kubotas are just rebadged Giants, nut and bolt. Can't be too bad if Kubota are prepared to put their name to it.

Honestly though, I'm no engineer so I cannot give you definitive conclusions, but I did a lot of research and not one bad review came out on the Giant.

They're built in Holland so prolly a bit more pricey what with the Euro/pound thing.
