We are looking for a climber and people interested in other aspects of countryside maintenance work! If you're just interested in climbing (and have your relevant tickets), do get in touch. But if you're interested in the other aspects too, that would be a bonus. Anyone else who is interested in only the other aspects, get in touch too! We offer a wide range of services across the north York moors (based near Whitby) including tree surgery, tree planting, brushcutting, knapsack spraying. We've got a large planting contract starting soon and its a lot of work! So more than happy to hear from a good number of you. Here's a link to the indeed post for a little more information: Just a moment... UK.INDEED.COM Thanks!

A high lift jack can be handy for shrubs like that but you do need something to grab with a chain or get under with the beak.

It has always confused me that with more automation, computers, robots, faster cars and tractors, all this tech, that we need to retire at 70 and not let the machines take over, retire at 50.

did you see the clip of Trump this week moaning that the Ukraine had targeted one of Putins houses, he was very upset, and very much ignored the thousands of Ukrainian homes destroyed by the Russians. I reckon Putin cannot admit to doing badly - he has built his whole persona on being the tough guy - from his calendar shots bare topped horse riding, bear wrestling type things, cannot back down, so yes will keep going at it till spent or till the Russian Generals have a quiet word with him, tower block open window accident style.

More lead in this one, 280g. I'll add a steel ring on each, would have been better to buy them in advance and insert while it was printing.. While I've been trimming hedges today I left the printer on, I now have A pair of Stuka sirens.

I'm back at this one today. The informationI could find, was that puffballs only grow on dead wood, and will not decay a healthy tree. Here is a better photo showing the position on the buttress root. Short video to show the spores, which are now dark green. VID_20251230_114444.mp4 Please ignore my ladder-hedge cutting safety shoes Should the fungi give any concern to the long term health of the oak? Thanks

Looking for a permanent position in Leeds or close to. Full time ideally but would consider part time on the books. I'm new to it so don't have loads of experience but I've done a bit of subbying as a groundie for the past 6 months or so whilst putting myself through my tickets. I have CS 30, 31, 38, 39, 40, 41. First aid + F. Is anyone hiring, or know of anyone who would be interested? Thanks

I ment to say round here it's a mix of flexothene and then really rather expensive clobber. As mentioned I am mostly in flexothene bibs with an ex RAF jacket or old sip or cut climb- just so any birds on the footpath know I climbed a tree once.

I need to replace my lines. Had tachyon for a while, bit stretchy for srt, once your weight is in it it's good, find it's great for drt. Not sure how one would cope on a windy day the stretch is handy then. Did replace my short line with some drenaline but I find that hard to hold onto, but is improving as it fluffs up. Not sure what to get next.

Sorry for late response .... got caught up with Xmas and hope everybody had a good one! I will grab a bit, split it and test the middle, she tried some other wood as well and that worked fine so it's definitely not the burner / installation which is good. Think I'm going to suggest she gets some other decent wood and keep this load to next year which will give it a chance to dry out properly and no money wasted. Cheers for everyone's help ... much appreciated!

I'm not sure about that Mick. It would be unlike the Aussies to take their foot off the gas deliberately; they take 'competiveness' to ridiculous degrees, especially against the old foe. The pitch was stupidly in all the bowlers' favour, so much so that the ICC has now assessed it as 'unsatisfactory', their second worst grading. Call me cynical but leaving the grass at 10mm long had nothing to do with the heat which is hardly a novelty in the country; it was to do with offering the most assistance to the on form Aussie bowlers. Luckily for us we bowled well too and they batted even worse than us (except for the brilliant Travis head). I anticipate Sydney with trepidation; we've now lost three front line bowlers. I'm a fan of Matt Potts; I really hope he can step up.

Don't forget to balance the flywheel when you've replaced bearings, or all your work will be in vain!

I've communicated positively with your posts on quite a few occasions but I can't agree in any way with this,... except to say that she thought exactly the same as me regarding the Islamist's stated aim of the Islamifacation of the western world and all that goes along with it. Frankly, the fact that she was found guilty of anything speaks volumes as to just how far the justice system in France and moreover the rest our ' civilised ' society has been infiltrated by the Globalist Cabal and their anti Human agenda. We live in a disarmed, disabled country where the Trojan horse of multiculturalism is allowing an invasion of cnuts who wish death on us. This is not just a UK problem, It's a global assault on humanity and in general where common sense is vilified and total nonsense is portrayed as truth. Feckin hell, WTF's wrong with your self defence radar... has it blown a fuse ???
