I imagine there are many even most, perhaps the majority effing dreadful (whos descendents became modern day telesales scam shites). And I know there have been some remarkable ones too Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar[a] FRS (22 December 1887 – 26 April 1920) was an Indian mathematician. Often regarded as one of the greatest mathematicians of all time, though he had almost no formal training in pure mathematics, he made substantial contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions, including solutions to mathematical problems then considered unsolvable.

Wish it was mine... and he'd got a better one. Similar one for sale on the Web for a mere £49,995.

Hadn't heard of Scorpian shear, they have an interesting design. Got a Geith tilting hitch on the machine so will be able to tilt any shear on the end

300 tanks of fuel is an awful lot for a lightweight domestic spec saw like an ms231. That's 15 years or so use for the average specified user cutting a few logs a couple of times a year for their wood burner

This my original post: I am about to purchase either a Scag zero turn walk behind rotary mower or flail.. Has anyone used either? I would like too know more about the flail type, as I am presently using a quad, and towing a Logic flail mower.. it seem senseless having two engines running.. what sort of stuff will the flail cut through?

It doesn't always have to be big trees to be fun. The laurel bush was kind of sacred for the owner, so we had fun puzzling this tree apart without (or minimal) damage to the laurel. The anchor tree next to the dead willow was an Acer negundo, so we were pretty careful with the force vectors on those anchors... We were with only 2 of us at the job, that's why I did the rigging with the portawrap on my end. It would have been difficult for my friend to run both ropes!

Some log splitting. Me and my dad big beech already rung up so ripped them, split and my father stacked it (63). 6 hours work there roughly. Dunno if that’s good or not… Play about on an old forwarder, got that far before it was needing hydraulic oil. Quite hard to get used to the crane but I think a couple days on a newer one, I’d be a lot better.

I would agree those Bulldog hitch locks are well designed, used one for years, quick and easy to fit as well as ‘Solid Secure’ approved.

Its about a 50/50 split for second homes, and none of the younger locals can afford to buy a house in Angle, unless they have a job with the refinery. The refinery is only noticeable with sound and smell on a cold frosty days or easterly winds, but 1 in 5 families in Pembrokeshire have some work connection with the refinery. It is going to hit Pembrokeshire hard when it finally closes.

Not me, I don't like using tree guards. I can't remember if you're posted up other squirrel damage before though, worth getting their numbers down if you have time.

Groundworks within Root Protection Area
Tree monkey 1682 replied to Boris Morton's question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
Think also the council will take the view the tree was there before the house. You can see trees that have been damaged by "builders" driving plant. Tree dies off the side that compaction/ groundwork have taken place on... Always makes me wonder why people buy houses next to established trees, then try and stick carports underneath! -

Glad the 395 is still bopping along nicely. On the 560, ADW is probably on the money on this one. -
Coppicing 3 very mature hazel trees - rotate or all in one go?
openspaceman replied to YamanM's question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
not seen one anywhere as big but the young thin shoots are sunshoots and seem to be a way the stool manages itself with new growth as the older shoots go moribund. This is why it is so suited to coppice.
