A customer mentioned this the other day he said he was going to buy one for a laugh and at the least he would use it for a chipper snedding saw. It does make us look silly asking for certs for a top handle saw when people can just pop down to lidl and buy one.

Home - Hillcard Ltd HILLCARD.CO.UK Hillcard Ltd These guys are at Bodenham, just a few miles north of Hereford. Had some sleepers from them a few years ago. Prices and service good, and they had a decent range from memory. -

yes, my grandfather had one, I recall it had a kickstart under the bonnet, and no reverse gear, but the steering would point the wheel 90 deg in either direction which helped a little to turn it around.

@Andy full Education/training wise the obvious next step is to do your Level 4. This will open the door to tree officer and consultant roles, but will also bring a lot to your every day Arb work. In the meantime, a change is as good as a rest - it sounds like you're just stuck in a bit of a rut where you are and who you're working with, and have become the go to person for big dismantles. Lots of decent firms inside the M25 rely on good subby climbers for nice reductions, deadwooding etc. I'd do a bit of market research on companies in whatever bit of London you want to end up in and reach out to them for a few shifts. You can have a lot of variety and if you're good you can pick and choose who you work for. You could keep an eye out for Arborist jobs with the City of London who have in-house teams that look after Hampstead Heath and Eppong Forest. Otherwise I think the Royal Parks have contractors do their tree work and local authorities will have a mix. As others have said IRATA /Industrial rope access is another option with lots of work in on London, but I've never met someone in rope access that wasmt working on their exit strategy out of the industry.

Apology accepted. I can only say pulling the 881 past compression without decomp is a lot easier than trying to get that started. Once warm it wasn't as testing.

Or use it and break it within the 3 years, then get the Mrs to take it back for a full refund!.

Not forgetting I think they were fitted to one of the Bond 3 wheelers I believe.

1953 , the year I was borne . The 2T Villiers engine was every where in my youth . Francis Barnett , Cotton , James , Norman , Ambassador , Greeves and some others I can't think of . I think it was the backbone of small capacity motor cycles until Japan came along .

Larch or sweet chestnut sleepers, near chepstow?
Squaredy replied to sandspider's topic in General chat
Yes I could do this, though I am low on larch right now. I should have some in a few weeks if that helps. I would charge you £43 each. You might find it cheaper to use imported oak, though I could be out of date with this, but you used to be able to pick up French sleepers for around £25 I think. There used to be people who specialised in sleepers, one near Hereford if I remember rightly. Hope this helps. -
You could buy it , use it on 2 small reductions add £35 to each job and then chuck it away ! 🙂
