  1. Past hour
  2. Cocked up line four.πŸ€” Wordle 1,567 5/6* 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟨🟨 🟩⬜🟩🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  3. Morning all, Heading north for a week to see daughter and her in laws. Wonder what the weather will bring.
  4. I work for a hire company, we have run 860i's for the last 3 years or so. Not had any of the above issues. Did have some dashboard water ingress issues, but I think they were caused by over zealous wash bay lads pressure washing the dashboard at close range. The new 635's we have had some issues with fan belts snapping. I personally really rate the avants for what they are, yes the plastics are brittle but they seriously punch above their weight.

  6. Why would you ever give a customer an option to not pay for the job to be done properly? The price is A - full price for a proper job or B - zero, because the job isn’t getting done. If they want to get pikies with ladders in and have loads of mess and shit broken leave them to it.
  7. Nice starting word πŸ™„πŸ˜‚ Wordle 1,567 3/6 🟨⬜⬜🟩⬜ 🟩🟨🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. Morning, some rain through the night, storm Amy is meant to be hitting us this weekend. A day of pricing and pottering for me. Have a good 1.
  9. Today
  10. Very very surprising outcome. Not much comes out of Finland that is not well put together and thought out.
  11. I do not understand the customer not being willing to pay for a groundsman as a valid excuse for not having one. Curious of what you charged for thos job and what the difference would have been to have a ground man's?
  12. Why do you say that? I am listening. I've asked a local arb about mentoring when they get something suitable. I'm looking at ropes and will get one. Thank you for the books I shall have a look. They were previously recommended to me. However at no time of the day did either phone get answered and email got no reply, when I tried before. I assumed they were away, closed down or so busy that they didn't want any more. I shall try again, thanks.
  13. Has rained Iin the night but not blowy yet! Hope it brings you some work but be safe in the weather! Drive home, change the contents of the bag and drive to Caz's returning on Sunday to make sure Tom sorted for Sick Week, his next drag and drive adventures in America. Whack, Sand, Wayne.

  15. Drifting off topic Γ  bit.. This thread has caused me to remember my rigging course (as part of ten weeker at Merrist Wood) My take outs from that were that they concentrated on stuff that you hardly, if ever, used, stuff like horizontal lowering of big branches using two ropes, or an entire day spider-legging branches, I feel that they could/should have worked more on the basics. Long time ago of course.
  16. You can't ring for an appointment any more at our surgery . It all has to be done on line now . People kicked against it initially but it seems to be working smoothly now .
  17. Good Morning. Bit moist out there. Off to Hounslow for a Team Meet. Deep Joy on a Friday. Have a good start to the weekend.
  18. There is a rigging course with spaces available on 24th November at Scott Fraser Training in Lamberhurst, Kent. Scott has a fantastic knowledge of rigging and can push you as far as you want to go. Those that can’t, are Irish drunks and their arb mates masquerading as trainers ( the ones you used and recommended on here previously), those than can, do, and do so at the highest level….or so the saying goes.
  19. It was a bizarre period, insects that were thought to be harmless and friendly turned against us in a Hitchcockian manner. The summer was unprecedented, people getting water from standpipes. John Noakes taking a shower in his swimming trunks on Blue Peter to illustrate how more economical it was compared to a bath. It had an End of Days feel to it.
  20. Another clear bright and warm day. Finishing lifting round the field today, plus flailing the brambles etc. The three fallen oaks were a breeze so agreed to fill the second day with lifting round the edge. To give you an idea..

  24. Good morning Arbtalkers and happy Friday πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
  25. Kram, no doubt you will ignore this post as well but some people are actually trying to to help you here. Do you not realise that to get you alone in a course for a week to pay for the assessor then they need the numbers to make it work? Nothing wrong with a good mentor. In the meantime why not check out the Art and Science of practical rigging or the Fi dementia’s general tree work. They might help you gain some knowledge. The kind of thing Alex is mentioning.
  26. And don’t use rock climbing rope.
  27. Yesterday
  28. That’s what they are paid for and trained to do. I’d imagine he will sleep well tonight once the adrenaline subsides.
