Thats what I think yes - speed and torque. The extra friction caused by pulling the chain round the extra 2 inches out and 2 inches on the return. Plus Im sure there are other factors. Heavier chain. Chain tension generally increases with longer bars to keep the chain tight, so more friction on the tip.
-
Also is the cable routing slack enough to handle going round corners? but not too slack that it catches on things?

I don't believe that it's about assimilation. On the push side it's just the age old pursuit of wealth and power, but happening at an unprecedented speed. On the pull side it's the human love of convenience and novelty. Digital per se isn't the problem. It'd be fine if it was used wisely and altruistically.

Ok, you guys will need to cut me some slack here but ............ With my ignorance and simpleton's view (of life) can someone explain to me why a longer bar/chain reduces chain/ cutting speed so much ? You have the same teeth spacing (?) and therefore the same number of teeth (cutting) in a given diameter of log/tree at any stage of the cut. You therefore have the same load on the engine and (presumably) therefore a similar engine rpm which on any given sprocket is driving the chain at the same speed ???? So am i right in thinking the 'killer' is just the additional friction of an extra 2 inches ?!!!!

Hi im new to this forum so after help. I have been intersted in owning my own wood now for about 10 years. Ideally looking for 3 ish acres in North Lincolnshire for recreational use and fire wood for my home. I have some questions regarding prices, access and regular maintenance. Can anyone provide an indicative price per acre that would be advised. Not the small lots Woodlands co.uk are dealing. Access, if i have vehicle access can i take my motorhome, camper and stay. Are there any costs required to maintain woodland like insurance, fencing etc Any advice on any topic highly appreciated as I look to aquire my own wood.

I am thinking someone is pulling cable and not plug when disconnecting it from truck.

I used to be dead against it, 15 max on a 550. Then I got older, tried me mates one, yes this is the life, longer bar you don't have to bend down so far! You can get through bigger diameter logs when chugging down or felling, What's not to like, of course the chain isn't running up as fast as it would on a 15 but hey I don't care anymore, and i don't really notice it. One thing I never understood was putting a 3/8 chain on a smaller saw, had many a disagreement with regards to the merits of this set up, call me a bigger but my mind will not be changed on that! But you can try as I am a reasonable person.

As mentioned before I reckon, as long as the electric fuel pump is working, that it will be an air leak. Check the fuel lines or replace, fairly cheap job and easy to do.

It could also be a dying glow plug if it's a diesel engine, or just a bad battery that struggles to turn the cold engine over fast enough.

is this still for sale

Has anybody got a 60inch -72inch bar for a 880 for sale. would also potentially be interested in the full mill. would also be down to rent... got 48inch setup already. got an 880 already. cheers Jimmy

Thanks for asking my opinion. It seems that assimilation is in progress ... resisting it seems to be difficult or maybe even futile. 🙄 I'd go back to 1972 btw.... pre-digital virus, 👍
