  1. Past hour
  2. Trump?! You must be on the windup.
  3. True but that looked like jobs for the boys, was it £35 billion ish spunked on a useless private company when the nhs could have provided a better service for less money. They already had a track and trace system in place. I appreciate the info from all of the above on the id card stuff. It looks like its inevitable which lets be honest, its going to happen globally at some point. I dont understand the argument that it will cut down on illegal immigration, how will it? And people who use cash in hand employees will continue to do so ID card or not.

Perceived wisdom is that having a super abundance of seeds one year and then a dearth of seed for a few years is so that species that feed on the seeds die down in the years of famine and then cannot expand their populations in the mast year fast enough to consume all of the glut, so some seeds are left to germinate as the next generation. If you have more frequent mast years as the climate conditions change then the predator populations increase. Having avoided the death bed by not smoking I wonder what cravings are left. I seem to have lost the ability to intersperse a reply into the original text.
  5. Is this the point at which I tell him he needs a 251, and I just happen to have a lovingly cared for immaculate example, one careful owner? 🤔 If your pockets are deep enough, you can't go wrong with a 261, cracking saw. List price of that is within £10 of a 391, and I know which one I'd rather have.
  6. Emails are amateur local league stuff. It's all about digital photos and videos if you really want to max out the clouds.
  7. You wouldn’t want to cut it with a strimmer!

What's the normal Mast Year talk - that it predicts a harsh winter? Probably bollox if so, I agree. More likely that a mast year is just a reflection of a harsh summer, i.e. too hot and dry. Trees feel threatened so go all out to produce the next generation. Can't blame them, what would we want on our death beds, other than a last cigarette?

  10. There's an official guidance document, in the past I've emailed that back, quoted the example wording on the planning portal, and asked them to show me what guidance they are working to so I can submit something acceptable if what I put in is wrong. Application validated.
  11. Good bit of kit, petrol power option. Zero hands on the return, better than one hand, stop height set on rod at the back.
  12. Try it from here then https://www.jaspwilson.co.uk/product/posch-8t-firewood-log-splitter/
  13. Heavier for the same power though. Look at the 391 anchor.
  14. I think you're right, they can't request that. Being charitable, maybe it's not clear on the application if the tree has TPO - reality the application go to an admin person in planning department who knows nothing about trees. Theory I guess is reduce workload on TO but sometimes they say something daft.
  15. all the power used by cloud data centres to store everyone's old emails that they will never read again. I'm doing my bit towards total destruction with 6000 stored. Corporations must have just loads

Blackberries were crazy early this year in Kent. Sloes and Damsons fruited really well. Local vineyards started picking mid September, which is early. Acorn/conker crop is normal. Sweet chestnuts keeping their powder dry. ’Mast year’ talk is generally bollocks. We all wish for a cold, dry winter and a white Christmas, but it will invariably start to piss down in a couple of weeks and not stop till March.
  17. Character and general conduct What happened to the legions of screenshots, too high a CO2 footprint? 🤷‍♂️
  18. He might have wordee it poorly Dave or not the correct info. Have you actually seen what he sent in?
  19. @Iain Hickinbottom Also in the context future safety. I'd be wary of advertising your mobile number on a public forum like this. You never know who's looking, and there's ways of tracing numbers to addresses in some cases I think. Better to just get people to PM you instead. Best of luck with the recovery.
  20. Thank you. I concede, they are undoubtedly two strong achievements, and much needed unfortunately. They're probably exceptions though, unless you can suggest anything else that he's done to benefit us, the average hardworking people, or the planet? It's a shame that Trump couldn't personally be a bit more assertive with his best friend Putin, rather than bringing him in from the cold with the red carpet treatment. What happened to the legions of screenshots, too high a CO2 footprint?
  21. Jebus indeed. I give up. Aside. I'm not a Starmer fan. I didn't vote for him. I can be honest and openly say that I don't think I can list any good things that he's done since Trump was elected a 2nd time. This discussion would be so much better if you had the decency to be equally as candid. Regarding the EU types, (why do people always have to be categorised as "types" or belonging to certain "sides"?), I have no idea. We're not part of the EU. For reference. There is a Venn diagram for the <not a fan of Trump> and <not a fan of Starmer> sets. Just saying.

Yes, I was very pleasantly surprised by the size of all the fruit, given the draught we had over the summer. The only exception was the Damsons, they were noticeably small than normal. I used to make a fair bit of cider, never thought to go to the next level. Nice idea.

In what regard has the distilling regulations been relaxed?
  25. I was in Canada in 1995 watching the Ryder cup on American TV. Europe won, and what I remember was how terrible the American commentators were about Europe's win.
