  1. but I am glad to see you are a Guardian reader and trust it's reporting
  2. now now Andy. let's keep it friendly. I am left of centre but do not read newspapers. Sky and BBC news for me
  3. well that is not my experience in the NE of England. I just emailed an Indian born GP in Luton, an old friend. he is high up in the administrative hierarchy as well as a practicing GP. He is running a covid vaccination clinic. he says a lot of BAME patients are not taking up the vaccine, but not BAME drs,
  4. that is a good point that I was thinking about myself. i replied to someone on youtube once about why they bother debunking Flat Earthers as, by definition, they are not reasonable. His reply was that there is evidence that those people who are unsure (who the eff these f wits are is anyone's guess) may be persuaded one way or the other. This is why "free speech" has been assaulted on social media platforms as "alternative" information unfortunately costs lives, not only those people who do not believe the science but others in the general population.
  5. not anymore. the Swedish PM apologized to the elderly population for letting them down
  6. he is trying to say that drs are not taking up the vaccine which is untrue. I think the news has come from both social care and health care workers not taking it up as one might wish. no disrespect to these workers but I am not surprised that the less qualified "HCW"s do not have 100% uptake.
  7. R4 is MSM, we all know about MSM
  8. that was exactly my point
  9. I know dozens of drs and to a person they all have taken the covid vac. apathy explains the less than 100% uptake of flu, esp as in some it years when they get it wrong it is miserably ineffective. I remember it was only 10% a few years back
  10. Versus the other 99%. My old GP Harold Shipman did a video once about palliative care. I remember the mainstream establishment thought it dangerous and banned it. I wrote to the BBC asking for them to air it, to give the other side of the argument but the cheeky so and so’s told me to see a psychiatrist
  11. An old one. My dog trying to spoil the drake’s fun. These two are now Fox shit as when the pond froze over Charlie walked over to their little den in the middle and had em
  12. Don’t know what the birds are but the pre dawn light was beautiful
  13. well whatever the weather outside my house is, it's rare. for only the second time in 30 years a southerly wind has blown a snow drift so deep across my track i had to dig a trench out so my Mitsubishi L200 could bulldoze thru.
  14. no mate, just how i built it although there may be more outward pressure on the lower end of the boards to fail. widthways that pressure is halved.
  15. the bit with hanging tarp is where i dry the 8ft planks and it is only down in wet weather
  16. this has worked generally for me but i do plan to add half inch cladding offset, a couple of inches proud of the south west facing side, as driving rain does get in
  17. what do u want tarp for when you have a logosol miller? build a bloody drying shed😘
  18. 55 but I’m in high risk category BTW, I was asking Trigger if he had started building a shed with his milled wood
  19. Johnsond Have you started building yer frigging shed yet? Just got mine wired up. Cost £400!
  20. Temperature and airflow are the most important. I really only burn waste spruce slabs cut into stove size chunks. If you do it wrong you get repetitive strain injury stocking up the stove. Get it to correct temp, make sure stove is full ( not a single log in the middle which is my wife’s favourite [to save wood]) and shut off air and it will burn hot for ages.
  21. Can’t argue with that (but I could with some of your other posts) It’s a difficult balance and I’m glad I’m not in charge
  22. a strong young buck like yourself Trigger will have no need of the vaccine in all seriousness. i'm a fat old ****************
  23. Very glad to have received my second Pfizer vaccine. Didn’t sign anything now or first time. Asked if I was presently unwell etc. The nurse then surprisingly asked what I did for a living. I said I was Professor of statistical virology with an interest in immunology. She said I should be on Arbtalk
  24. I hope you are right about changing habits but obesity is here to stay. That genie is out. Shifting tax from healthy foods to unhealthy might make some difference. A safe drug that induces satiety also. Making Abbot Ale low cal would help me. Hopefully the washing hands thing might last a little longer but the only way forward in the years to come is a more efficient and coordinated response when another pandemic starts to loom. No country would need to shutdown if the health service had capacity but no country is going to run such a service “just in case” due to economics. I’m glad Sweden admitted they got it wrong. I wouldn’t want to live in a society that didn’t go L for Leather to look after it’s vulnerable as that will be me in a couple of decades. Thankfully no government wants the bad press associated with queues of elderly dying on trolleys in hospital corridors.
