  1. Try reading a book. I’ve just finished a famous one by Dale Carnegie published in 1936. I can post it to you
  2. Thought the composition of this photo was good
  3. You left 2 inches behind. [emoji12]
  4. he’s gonna disagree with that broad statement eh Andy[emoji12]
  5. 7-14 days incubation period for the infection, 2 weeks for an immune response from the vaccine. First dose reduces severity of infection
  6. there you go you two. something we can agree upon😁
  7. what? LOL. it's a post on Covid! the whole point of this is for people to blow off steam and give their POV. i truly cannot see why you would post that comment unless you were the OP and the topic was on how fiddly it was to replace a carb on a husky 455.
  8. yes I could only find "targeted protection of vulnerable groups"
  9. ok. I will continue to keep it civil though. you need 80-90% uptake with usual vaccines to protect the population. Covid, is of course, an unknown in this respect. the only contraindications for covid presently is a history of anaphylaxis to medication so there will never be 100% uptake in that respect. if you do argue contrary points you do have an obligation to explain your reasoning. you may have already stated this but what would you recommend this government do instead of lockdown? if you tell me I can agree or disagree with the various points in a respectful manner, hopefully with evidence. my point in arguing with you isn't to change your mind, it is to put my points over to anyone reading who has not already made their mind up, so they can hear everyone's points and make their own mind up
  10. sorry, I find there is no need for any to and fro-ing to be anything but respectful argument. I did not know what you meant by statistics. are you referring to the risks of covid to the general population? if so, drs are not the general population so they should all get vaccinated as more than anyone they are at risk of catching it...being off work...health delivery being disrupted. the most recent part of your argument was about the poor uptake in vaccination in the medical profession. you using the words "protect us" and "supposed transmissibility and lethality" does smack of not believing the worldwide response to the pandemic is for other than stated reasons. I understand this lockdown has been very difficult for you and I do honestly sympathise but the lockdown is not to protect you, as you state, it is to protect the health systems of the different countries from being overwhelmed.
  11. I agree with you entirely, they should not be apathetic. don't know what you mean by "do they know the stats"? could you explain as some may see that as these common a garden drs in Leicester are part of some conspiracy and I know that is not what you meant as these drs will have the same access to info about the various vaccines as us. they are just more at risk of catching it. I spoke to a respiratory consultant back in April. Her medical staff had all caught it as PPE was so Shiite then
  12. They are though! The news referred to HCWs. The Leicester poll quoted 70% of doctors taking the jab. I will bet you twenty quid 99% of the 30% defaults are because of apathy. 3 of my ex uni mates are GPs. Every dr in each of their practices have had the jab
  13. Hey! When a portable lightweight motorised SRT accessory is invented the same will happen on here
  14. Looks like there would be enough to make a good stock for a risotto
  15. I don’t know. If you start with the smallest bore and work up you can do pebbly earth. Obviously not rocks or spikes. It’s a skill you soon develop once you’ve fecked yer wrists up I agree
  16. I take you haven’t regained your smell after having covid
  17. I don’t think they do a single cab anymore. My next truck is going be be electric. The only one I have seen that I would get is the Ford 150. Assuming it gets to UK. Nice long deck
  18. second the l200. my single cab has no reversing alarm so a few trees have dented the back but i just hammer them out
  19. what did they smell like?
  20. where there is a will, there is a way. "how long to do this job?" 2 days mate! "I will pay four times the amount to get it done in a day" ok, I will take on more subs and do it
  21. it's risk assessment, pure and simple
  22. long term side effects are not really a thing with vaccines. the only long term problem I could find was this In 1955 about 200 people were paralyzed and ten died after contracting polio from the Salk polio vaccine, certain lots of which contained virus that had not been inactivated in spite of manufacturers’ adherence to federal government standards. the MMR ones and the whooping cough ones were debunked
  23. no, like most i'm heavily into confirmation bias. there is only one person more right than me and that is my wife
  24. i'm a sarky sod but always in good jest. this does get me into trouble even with face to face dialogue, never mind written. I haven't punched anyone in 40 years, my last beer was...let me see, what time is it now? i'm a Gemini, I like musical theatre, toy poodles, self grooming and my partner and I enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars and a good bottle of Blue Nun. There, you know all there is to know about me now
  25. surely my emoji is an indicator of the sort of chap I am? I do not like conflict and want to give everyone a hug
