  1. would i need to clean the mud off first? i will wait for it to rain
  2. Call me sad but this pic turns me on more than page 3. Let’s hope I get more than 20000 miles from them.
  3. Not surprised [emoji50]
  4. yeah, that's what ive got on at the minute. like you say not great in unloaded van but ive been slightly stuck in muddy ruts before so wanted a change. getting the Grabbers in an hour. The Coopers dealer couldn't be arsed so not getting my money
  5. L200 single cab looking at Grabbers At3 as good 50/50. Looking around the net I see them classed on the ORGI system as 1 ie totally on road. Are they any good in the mud? The 205R16 excludes BFGs Any other all terrain suggestions gratefully received
  6. i was thinking what to do with my M8. i was going to firm up the centre rail connection with some aluminium brazing rods if i'm gonna keep it, if there is any use in keeping with a new sawmill, but have no idea of the second hand market for these things. any out the box ideas on what to do with the dust and slabs? they are coming out my ears. have ducks and chickens, compost it, spread it around my muddy areas, saw the slabs for firewood, made as many raised decks with them as my garden will take. thinking about doing charcoal. my scarey thought is i've felled trees ive actually planted ?
  7. ok, thanks everyone. one more question. obviously i don't want to throw away money so would the 130 (yes, changed my mind) on a trailer be a better investment than the cheaper Frontier OS 27 on a trailer? probably not a lot of experience out there with the Frontier but i read it as American Norwood quality made overseas so cheaper???
  8. cheers, already mailed him re any demos coming up once this virus settles. invited me to Wales but a long way from County Durham.
  9. cheers mate. could have saved me a grand there ?
  10. can't see that one on the Norwood site, only Lumbar Man/Pro/Mate
  11. i want the woodlander trailer so the Norwood a grand dearer
  12. cheers but 126 fine for me
  13. been using logosol m8 for a few years now but thinking of switching to a bandsaw ie woodlands HM126 to inc speed of production. anyone out there done this switch and have any regrets? i'm pretty slick with the set up of the M8 but basically want to cut more quickly. obviously cutting the log insitu is just part of it. from arriving at the wood to finishing for the day is the bandsaw head and shoulders above a chainsaw or not much in it. i use an MS661.
  14. Have tried this but unsure how long to do it for. Any tips?
  15. Cheers. Been using it for 5 years. I’m pretty sure it’s the bar and not the mill. Like I say not even had a years use out of it. Chain is stihl micro chisel 3/8 .63. I could advance the saw with my little finger but any decent pressure the chain would bind, which I figured cos I’d filed the depth gauges too low
  16. No problem with the lo pro chain and bar
  17. Not uneven sharpening as use a grinder. See vid re “give” in two bars. The second is the problem one and there is more give. Disappointed if it is that as the bar is only a year old
  18. Sorry guys, what I meant was for ease of cutting. I was told that ripping was easier once the wood had dried slightly, with partial separation of fibres. The sections I had left for 6 months on the woodland ground had woodwasp larva tubes penetrating a few inches but it was a lot easier to cut.
  19. my N Spruce boards are starting to look like Seabrookes crisps, all crinkle cut. this happened a few years back and it was cured by buying a new bar, but this bar is good. sharp chain on ms661 logosol M8 mill. cleaned and filed smooth the bar. any ideas? it's not the width of the boards or how slowly i progress the chainsaw.
  20. whats the optimum time in summer to let sections of softwood trunks dry before milling? i recently noticed a great difference milling fresh v 6 months left on the ground, but i don't want to wait any longer than necessary.
