  1. All finished. The neighbour came round and insisted of going to his work place to get a pallet jack. I asked politely “will it lift high enough?” “Oh yes” My idea was to get a scaffold bar and thread it through the frame and the two of us lift it like a sedan chair. “That won’t work” Anyway the pallet jack was a waste of time and we eventually did my plan which worked perfectly. And my wife wonders why I don’t ask for help as much as she thinks I should.
  2. I will nip down the car wash this morning and pick some up
  3. was a bit taken aback when i turned the page of the manual and it said to use a forklift to lift it on to the trailer! taken the wheels off and set the frame on a pallet to get it as low as possible . will ask my neighbour tomorrow morning to help me lift it on. the Egyptians didn't have forklifts ffs
  4. yes, too pricey im afraid. got my woodlander. just trying to figure out how to lift the heavy sawmill head onto the trailer
  5. If somebody calls foul a thousand times and gets it right once it is not a successful call ( talking about medicine, not government obviously. The inverse would be true)
  6. That’s tragic. The NHS needs to get back to normal pronto to stop more unnecessary deaths
  7. I don’t think it is known how long the antibodies remain. Certainly nobody knows about immunity. My antibodies were still present 4 months after infection
  8. Nobody knows stubby. It is a strange illness all right. I had it in March and it cured me of my body odour
  9. No, talking about death certificate statistics not government statistics
  10. You have no sense of adventure. I love doing it by myself and working out what to do. They were due to deliver tomorrow at 8am ( so about 4ish) but I’ve got most of it put together now[emoji8] The 3 hours was basically unpacking it on the truck (which I would have had to do anyway) and laying it out to assemble. Granted it took more time than if it was on the ground but I bet my bottom dollar they would have just unloaded it at the gate and I would have had to shift it round anyway
  11. Took 3 hours piece by piece bar the engine which I had to winch off
  12. Shit[emoji12]
  13. If you want something doing, do it yourself
  14. looks like some form of willow and they die a natural death as this picture seems to indicate. don't take my word though
  15. inconsistencies are a sign that a government want to try and pretend they know what they are doing and think we are stupid when it comes to understanding shortfalls in supplies of ppe and economic issues. the medics being scientists and doing what scientists do saying "I don't know" and "we need evidence" doesn't help with policy. saying it is a hoax is not on to put it politely. i won't even argue with that. the point about nursing homes and cause of death is totally incorrect. all bodies are moved to a chapel of rest as soon as practicable. the cause of death needs to be certified by a dr, is a legal document, is not taken lightly and if cause is in any doubt the coroner is informed. my son was moaning that if someone in a nursing home had covid a month before they died, then covid was the go to cause for the dr. not true. the dr can list anything up to four factors contributing to the death, ie heart failure aggravated by covid infection. getting vaccinated is a moral and social duty. the gov cannot mandate it, I wouldn't want them to, but we need herd immunity thru vaccination. the anti vaxers not getting their kids immunized put at risk others. same here
  16. well I have decided that today I will let my principles take a back seat to pragmatism and the fact I can't wait to get milling again. I'm going to the depot in my L200 to pick the bloody thing up this afternoon
  17. Like Tony Soprano used to say “What yer gonna do?”
  18. Polio eradicated from Africa. Soon Hopefully Pakistan and Afghanistan. Wonder what the anti vaxers would think of that? The dizzy intellectual circles I mix in don’t have any so so can’t ask em
  19. Cheers but I’ve paid for delivery and it’s the principle. A farm is just up the track from me. A few years ago he helped me shift my new chipper with his tractor with some lifting gear. I could drive my truck to the depot and collect it, about an hour’s round trip. They are coming back with it in 2 days time.
  20. The pallet with the winch came like this. The bloke yesterday said the mill pallet was too heavy for the tail lift and pallet truck
  21. the delivery company that woodland mills used to go from Bradford to my home with my woodlander mill. if it took a forklift to get it on to the wagon then they should figure they need one to get it off. Ringing me at work to ask if I had a forklift truck at home was a joke. if I was Woodland mills I wouldn't use them again
  22. The company needs to sort out who it uses for delivery. Was told a date for delivery of winch. Told they would ring - hour before. No call and no show. Turned up 2 days later. Whilst unloading I pointed out it was not my package. He had delivered mine by mistake to someone earlier. Had to go get it. Yesterday again told ring 1 hour before. Rang at bottom of my lane to ask if I had a forklift! No. Couldn’t deliver so took it back to depot. Still no show today with my mill. Wife rang to be told they are asking for more money from the company as it will take 2 men to unload, not one. Very amateurish I am afraid
  23. might be the 2 halves are not perfect, which is why I used that laser level I showed you. a planer might be quicker if you have a big enough one cos even after taking to time to get it perfect a great big lump of a tree can offset it. if it is going to be fixed in one place I would strengthen the joint. I was going to do that before I decided to sell. I love your set up
  24. 3mm. Width? Across the whole length or just a portion
