  1. i know Youngsbury will know this but to be clear, 17hmr legal for foxes, not muntjac
  2. as RM sells gear (with quite a high mark up), whats been the best, most useful bushcraft piece of kit you have made/bought, and the least?
  3. not off topic, shooting is part of bushcraft and RM shoots deer at least.
  4. I’m no expert but why 222 and not 243? Won’t the 17hmr do what the 222 will do but with the 243 you have Fox and deer?
  5. And a free toothpick
  6. I’ve got lofty wisemans book as well but to compare him to RM is like comparing apples and pears. I think LW was a little unkind, he is a survivalist whereas RM is a backcountry man. RM also studies the native’s ways. There was one scene where he reintroduced fire by friction to some indigenous folk who had forgotten how to do it and they had tears in their eyes. You would doubtless have a more “comfortable “ experience with RM than LW, but perhaps more calories with the latter
  7. Mine was more a leaf house and so as they dried more gaps appeared [emoji36]
  8. What rifle you got? I’ve got an FAC Crown.22 and a 17hmr
  9. That’s what I like about hunting, just sitting for hours in nature, waiting and watching
  10. Never watched him. Felt like was being unfaithful. I did see him take a bite out of a frog then spit it out and just felt it unnecessary. I have a bear grylls machete though. A lot cheaper than RMs
  11. I made something akin to this (but ten times more shite) in my garden a good few years back after I cleared a whole lot of laurels. Took a few days, slept in it once (well tried to doze) and then set fire to it the next year
  12. Like the great man said, “if you are roughing it, you are doing it wrong “
  13. When I was in my 20s and went on my first trip to the lakes, I had a pair of Dockers on my feet and a rubber Mac. I then started to gather gear, then more gear then more gear but now, in most part, thanks to him, I camp out in just a bivvy bag with minimalist equipment.
  14. I’ve read it. Let’s say he is a bit on the spectrum but not as much as Chris Peckham thank god
  15. He converted me in his 10 minute slots in “Country Tracks”. I go to his website to see what gear he recommends and then order it cheaper from elsewhere. I went on one of his courses in the Lakes and managed to make fire with friction [emoji106]
  16. i use condoms mate and change after every second use
  17. starting from now though?
  18. you my friend don't know what you are talking about! quarter turn! it took three quarter turn to fix it 🥳🤩 i had replaced the carb as originally it was a devil to start and then kept stalling
  19. put in a new carb and fuel filter. spark plug looks fine, as does airfilter, but like it says above, starts easily but as soon as throttled stalls. any ideas?

  21. No. The same place I get my Tena for men Beige Big Toe caps 10 Pack... 22. Not wishing to hijack a thread or anything but got my ride on out last weekend. Thought I would be lazy and “mow” the snowberry trimmings rather than rake them up. A sizeable twig got in and jammed the drive belt and it snapped. Just changed it this pm and wished I hadn’t ran over all my dog’s turds before the twigs[emoji2961]
