  1. Have realised I can't watch it, but I'm not bitter, hope you all enjoy! Joshua win towards the end.
  2. He said this morning, whilst reporting live from a fuel-less station, that twitter comments about his name made him feel like he was 9yr old.
  3. Was nice to see some respect between them at the weigh in. No pantomime pretending they had to be held apart by security, just a smile and handshake. Looking forward to it.
  4. An upward limb using the trunk as the head is a great idea. Would you say the natural branch union is stronger than shaping the whole thing from a section of trunk?
  5. They look ideal, like the idea that they become logs when retired as a tool, thanks.
  6. I hadn't really thought about why he was keen to make it himself and it was a busy day so we didn't really have time to chat. I'll ask him if he's thought of using an axe, thanks Gary.
  7. Makes sense to use one piece, a lot less trouble to go to. I'll pass on your suggestions tomorrow, thank you.
  8. Another question from my colleague who is starting his hedgelaying apprenticeship. He wants to make a mallet for knocking in the uprights that support the layed hedge (sorry I don't know the correct terms to describe this), and wondered if anyone might suggest which type of wood he should use? He's thinking one type for the head and different for the shaft, would this be correct and if so what would you suggest? There is plenty of different stuff to choose from at work, thanks for any suggestions.
  9. Usually just go to the door and ask "do you have a lot of poo bags available please, we don't carry them with us and we can't start work until it's all cleaned up". Until now they've always been embarrassed enough to say no, I'll do it now...
  10. Something very pleasing about that top photo J. Those lines of planting down the hill with the harvested stuff neatly stacked at the bottom.
  11. The people paying that up here are all the English that bought a palace here, still awash with cash having sold a bedsit down South!
  12. Any Ifor dealer will help, one near me are knowledgeable and very helpful. Home ALANTUERTRAILERS.CO.UK Ifor Williams Trailers for Sale: View our Full Range of Ifor Williams...
  13. We're told to wear a mask if we're shovelling it by hand, especially in an enclosed space.
  14. Yes, be careful around steaming piles of anything!
  15. The moto at work is use it every single time because there's always something else to get on with while it drops itself.
  16. I'm stumped with this, can someone explain please.
  17. Have had a few repairs done by a customer that is retired from theatre costume making. What she has done lasts well. Was mainly seams, pockets and zips. Had old trousers donated by some kind members here for her to salvage 'parts' from, but I'm sure she said a lot was hand stitched so maybe that's stronger than machine stitching.
  18. It's a little finger wheel just next to the pump handle on the front of trailer.
  19. Enjoying what felt like the last chance of summer to have a cooling paddle
  20. Omitting reversing from the HGV test, what a great idea that is.
  21. Don't know about rules but I've always tied them myself. Some people I've worked with don't like it but in my eyes you rely on knots you've tied yourself all the time, why would a prussic loop be different.
