Maybe arb shopping isn't a great idea if you've had too many Gins to find the section. Nevertheless, https://arbtalk.co.uk/classifieds/
  3. Working with a Woodmizer mill again today. Beech, Ash and Oak. I don't remember where most of it came from but the Oak was from this job 3 months ago.
  4. If you've any questions about it I can ask the boss and the miller who it belongs to this afternoon.
  5. I'm using a wand type detector today Bob. No idea of the price but it's been pretty effective at maybe a couple of inches depth in hardwood, and fairly accurate as only indicates when metal directly under it. Found several bits of metal to dig out before going on the mill. There were 3 nails buried together here and it located them in quite a small area as you can see.
  6. My Dad always used to say it as an answer. When anyone asked "how's it going?", he'd reply "oh I'm winning, just".
  7. New neighbours moo-ved in today so we went to introduce ourselves
  8. Ignore the haters Mark, you'll bring home the Gold for Team GB, no doubt.
  9. You'll absolutely smash it, hope you get the funding to make it there
  10. Karate was included, there were two competitions. One was conventional with 2 competitors fighting each other. The other style called Kata had only 1 competitor who pretended to fight an imaginary opponent, utterly bizarre. Apparently the idea is to be ditched now.
  11. Seen a lot of these too over the last week or so, had one in the truck yesterday.
  12. She deserves a cushion on the seat at least!
  13. Met an early riser last night, already out and about at tea time
  14. Pulled off a job this morning after discovering this little fella.
  15. Thanks 5thelement, it definitely caught a fish so I guess I saw an osprey today!
  16. Are they not bigger than buzzards? It seemed like a buzzard, see them every day here but not the eagle or osprey. As it left the river it made directly for a small wood where there is a buzzard nest so just assumed that's where it was going. Never associated them with fishing though so I may be wrong!
  17. No pics but was working near a river today and saw a buzzard drop vertically into the water and emerge with a fish! It got up a few metres and shook the water off like a dog before heading to the trees nearby. Didn't know they hunted in the water, was quite a sight.
  18. At one time I was reliant on firewood too (before I did tree work), got everything I used by going round farms and landowners and asking directly. Most were happy to help. Hopefully being a tip site will pay off for you anyway, all the best.
  19. You did well to see about it within a few weeks Mark, think I'd have put it off endlessly. Was your dull pain a constant thing or come and go?
  20. Promise Les, all 5. Got the naughty ones first
  21. I'm stuck on 4, give me your extra difference please, we'll both be winners!
  22. Hi Theo, is it firewood for your own use you are looking for? If so, you could try approaching a local Tree Surgeon to ask, and register yourself as a tip site on here. https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling
