  1. If it came to it I'd buy a gas bottle for your van before letting you into her clutches for warmth
  2. I'm beginning to understand why eggsarascal is reluctant to take David's offer of relationship help!
  3. Had a Hilka trolley jack that lasted many years of diy work problem free. It came in a case with axle stands, and wheel chocks. As I remember it was the lower end of price range from either Halfords or Screwfix.
  4. Might just be having a short break, If I see them again I'll ask! Edit. Is there any point actually, asking a mute swan a question?
  5. Met this lovely pair on the way to site this morning. Both on the white line with cars barging past either side so I blocked the road and encouraged them to fly. Wish people were more considerate.
  6. Think my arbortec trousers get repaired more often than washed! They usually get washed every couple of weeks but weekly if needed, use non bio tabs at 30 degrees and they've not faded noticeably. Washing them at higher temps might fade them quicker?
  7. I carry Cellox Clotting Granules, Israeli Bandage, CAT Tourniquet and Whistle as a personal kit. And hope that I'm able to use it if I have to. Just as important as carrying the first aid stuff, for lone working, is your planning. Particularly having someone (with a copy of your risk assessment) that you will contact at agreed intervals and if you don't respond they have the relevant details ready to raise the alarm.
  8. Hate it when "someone" driving the crane, with only one log to extract from a garden, twats the phone line and I get the privilege of waiting on site til the boss comes so we can fix it, while "someone" heads home! And when it's done I've still got an hour drive back home in a tractor
  9. Can I ask what happened that you were grazed by the chainsaw?
  10. And how much is the "cheaper" option of pump fuel actually costing when you factor in the 2 stroke mix and regular trips to the mechanic?
  11. Despite his claims, I reckon he's definitely sweating at the moment
  12. If he is innocent, he'd be well advised to stop behaving like he's guilty!
  13. The contact email address at the bottom is @amey.
  14. @Ashleygore4 There was an advert a few days ago, may be of interest
  15. Another vote for treehogs, like mine and not horribly expensive
  16. I know it doesn't help you but I received mine this morning, 5 days after doing the application online using my current passport.
  17. Yes Stubby, Mr Humphries identified it as Hair Ice and posted an interesting link to explain. Quite rare apparently and it doesn't last long when it forms. I was lucky enough to see it several nights in a row on the same piece of dead wood.
  18. I just did mine a couple of days ago, did online using passport which they say is the quickest way. Last time I didn't have passport so used the post office and it didn't take long. You can find your nearest participating post office here Drivers Licence Renewal | Identity | Post Office® WWW.POSTOFFICE.CO.UK You can renew your driving licence in a Post Office® branch near...
  19. My local Vet practice made this poster for reception, for all the owners struggling with just how to wear a mask properly
  20. Could they have been chased to death but not bitten? Any I've seen have been pretty obviously attacked. Stock worrying happens more and more often around here
  21. Wondering if they could've been worried by dogs and then moved so the farmer wouldn't find them. Any visible injuries apart from the ears?
  22. I can't remember the details of it but I fitted a double end stove for a mate in 2015 and they love it. Opened up the living room fireplace through into the kitchen. It heats whole house easily, they rarely run both ends of it. Edit. Was particularly proud of the "H" shaped slate hearth, it's a single piece cut from a pub pool table bed.
  23. Hi JDon, my boss will be able to help you with the hardwood slab offcuts. What corner of the Borders are you from? We're based near Selkirk and have plenty wood. Can't say much about your tool question though I'm afraid. Will message you privately.
