  2. Reminds me of me does that. ?
  3. Any need for all the bad mouthing guys.
  4. As stated it's so easy to knock out of line and then logs will be out, we cut some big stuff and I load mine with my excavator
  5. I would put down a concrete base andy so you can bolt the saw to it.Needs to be aligned very straight or the saw will not cut true and the legs are adjustable.
  6. Its not a dealership as such in hereford,Its just one machine operated by pual a polish lad and he runs it like a dream,You go and view the saw operating and he will let you try it but that is about it as far as it goes. You then have pay for a new saw and wait 3 months for delivery.
  7. Fully agree with you on the frame,You need a solid platform to set any saw up so it stays nice and solid,Any slight movement and the saw will not cut straight.
  8. I would not advise anyone to get a trakmet for the simple reason there is no uk dealers as such,Believe me i have tried all these saws out and in no way am i calling the trakmet saws over as they are a great saw but only 1 uk dealer as such in hereford,The chap who runs one is pual who is polish and a very helpful guy but you have to pay up front and its a 3 months waiting time for delivery so can one imagine if you were to need any parts.
  9. You did right to buy new andy as the older ones can take so much work to get running right.
  10. 2 different locations at the moment hence 2 mills Big j
  11. We cut douglas fir all the time and the time it would take to chainsaw mill 25 ton would be weeks,3/4 days with a bandsaw mill so time is money in my book,If you phone chris mention les and he will know and i may be able to help if needed john.
  12. We have work for both to be honest.Go for a bandsaw mill every time as the work involved using a chainsaw mill is cut by two thirds,If your on a budget then go for the woodland HM 122 as start from £2400 and chis pearce is a uk dealer and a good friend of mine and so helpful,I spoke to him last week about andy getting a hm 130.
  13. We feck em and you lads eat em
  14. Specially the welsh and scottish lads
  15. We have a woodland HM 130 but are looking closely at the logosaw one for the new year.
  16. What you will find is the market for a 12 months woodlands is just about the same value as a new one,Think how much work you can do in 12 months and then sell on the mill and may loose £300 and then upgrade.Never find any decent sawmills on the bay as people will just not get rid once you have one.
  17. Andy if you give chris a ring the dealer from pontypool he will be able to give you a better deal than direct from woodlands website/vat and a free canter leaver.really is a top guy and we are ordering a second HM 130 in the new year with a trailer.

Afternoon all,I have been ask to cut down 24 large fir trees around 8/10 metres high and between 300 mm and 600 mm wide,They look like spruce so what would they be worth road side as cord wood and what is the best way to cost the job,Day rate or a price but i have the option of having all the wood as part payment.
