  1. Get a few more quotes. If they are all coming in around £1300, that's telling you something. (It's not a quick and easy job) Can you post some pics? Then people on here may be able to confirm this
  2. I'd suggest you could offer to help a professional from the ground, but I know most probably won't take the offer. It sounds like the type of job, most of us try to avoid. It really isn't to be taken lightly. You will be astounded by how much comes off them. We would have 3 possibly 4 men on that, by the sound of it
  3. Hi will. That's a bargain for someone. Sorry, I don't need one, just wondering why you're packing up?
  4. Did you get it on?🤞
  5. Is this the 3rd thread this hedge has had
  6. My 2511 didn't run very well, new out of the box. I had a little fettle with it, and probably just got lucky. Good saws, when running well.
  7. If he's treating the council with such disregard, what makes you think he's going to treat you any better when the s**t hits the fan?
  8. Don't sound too delighted, when discussing it with the council, they may suspect you had a hand in persuading it 😀
  9. Having read the back story, I may have been a bit hasty with my first response. It might not be straight forward. Still think 'delighted' was a poor choice of words😆
  10. Don't think your neighbour is as delighted as you. That might change though, after a few quotes have come in

General arb work? Could be a bit more specific.

Most go through the auctions initially. Nearly all car auctions have a commercial auction monthly
  13. You're not restricting a fuel line when putting the air filter covers back on?
  14. You must have the same technique as me. Knuckle, index finger?
  15. Everyone knows someone that's had a close call/near miss with a chainsaw, surely? So just tick 100% for that box
  16. You might be right. I've got some, somewhere. Can't find it 1050 is in my head, but I can't remember if it was Celsius
  17. You can get motorbike exhaust paint, rated to 1050
  18. Yeah. Seems fair. We do lots of little £200 take downs, that don't take much more than an hour. When it comes to emergency work. The cost of the actual tree work pales into insignificance compared to damage repairs, road closures effect on the economy
  19. The little rats put their own chains on your bike now. So you come back to your bike and can't take it. Then when things are quiet, they come back and do the business
  20. Buying in bulk might not be simple for everyone. The extra storage space, security issues etc
  21. Big Larry. Screwfix
  22. Good stuff👍
  23. Ringing the log to size, maintenance of chainsaw?
  24. I agree. Go for it, then. Still parts available. Just keep a check on how much it's costing you. I'd even say, use pattern parts for some bits. If it's a wrongun, I might be interested. I've got one sat there with a crack in the casing around the oil tank. Otherwise, a good saw
  25. Ms 200 t was a great saw. They stopped making them quite a few years ago now. I think you'll be lucky to find one in good condition. A lot of arborists (myself included) kept hold of them and ran them into the ground. I loved mine. You're probably being offered something like this. They are not a home owners saw, and will have been used and used....
