  1. It’s called cs32 and cs33. Tree felling over 380mm and wind blown trees. Yes this situation is covered. Please don’t try what you’re suggesting. [emoji106]
  2. About £100 for that rotting mishapen nail filled small log. Branches are worthless. Highly valuable black walnut video comes to mind. Again! ?[emoji106]
  3. That’s not pollarded, thats butchered. Ash usually are pretty resilient trees, so get on the arb assoc website, get an arb assoc approved team to sort it out. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  4. Not even an attendant. All automatic, has been for many years. Unfortunately locals have discovered throwing each other in front of it as there’s no driver to brake in that situation. (I lived in London for years, this was fairly regular) But it’s great if you get a front seat on a nice day, amazing views. [emoji106]
  5. A free pen you say? ?[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  6. You can’t get a 48” bar on a 660. I would strongly suggest you get someone who knows what they’re doing in. As Spuddog says, you could do that with 25”. If you knew what you were doing. As you point out this could be fatal. Get a professional in buddy [emoji106]
  7. Anything which creates a vapour/water barrier. Preferably non toxic. PVA is cheap [emoji106]
  8. A Logosol bandsaw, bit more expensive but it’s a high quality machine. Either a b751 or b751 pro or b1001. Woodland mills are really good as an entry level bandsaw but just aren’t professional level. Just depends if you want to cut a few softwood planks or cut 25” oak all day? [emoji106]
  9. I think lo pro is great for smaller saws and bars. But putting .325 chain on an 84” bar pulled by 120cc torque.... I’m not testing that ?[emoji106] However I’m seriously considering going lo pro for the logosol F2+ as I usually run either 20” or 25” on a 661. .404 is like a tank. You can cut through nails and screws and it still keep going. It blunts much slower and I find it easier to sharpen. Also oregon only make hyperskip in .404 [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. It’s an inch per year from the centre to the outside in perfect conditions. The further from perfect the longer it takes. It’s all about air flow, temperature is almost irrelevant. [emoji106]
  11. A 500i will pull a 36” bar nose buried in oak beautifully. Paddy, A 261 will not pull a 25” bar, it doesn’t matter what you’ve seen on YouTube. [emoji106]
  12. It’s garden/non forest trees which always have nails. I’ve been buying more and more from foresters and extracting my own from woodlands. The olive ash 2x pieces 10’ x 20” we cut recently was about 16-18 cuts. Didn’t sharpen the chain once. [emoji106]
  13. You could put a 42” 3/8 on a 261, doesn’t mean it’s a bright idea. I wouldn’t recommend milling over 20” with 70cc saws. [emoji106]
  14. The right attitude is usually the most important thing I look for. [emoji106]
  15. Never heard of anyone buying 8.5m slabs. 8.5m beams however are very very expensive. Best air dry undercover, well stickered for first year, yes kiln the slabs. Wouldn’t bother kilning beams though. You will need to get structural timber graded and tested. You will find the limits of a 660 very quickly when milling, spud does do incredible things to a chainsaws performance though. A 42” bar will give a 36” cut. That’s the absolute limit of 90cc. Please post some pics when you’re up and milling [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  16. Great job Dan[emoji106] You’ll need some 20mm square slats for putting between the slabs to dry. Otherwise all looks good[emoji106] Yeah as Spuddog says. Get your logs from a forester, Nail free and good quality[emoji106][emoji106][emoji108]
  17. Get an 881 if you plan to mill more after. The 661 is a great saw, but compared to the torque of an 8 series it’s not in the same league. A 661 is limited to 28-30” max cut. An 881 will do 74”+. [emoji106]
  18. I’m still interested in the big lump AL.[emoji106]
  19. Get an eco mill off Rob.d as Dan suggests. They are a very accurate cut. What saw are you using? [emoji106]
  20. Got two of these bookmatched Wych elm each at 3m x 1m ish? Make a nice 6m table.
  21. Not to mention, Who has a 7m kiln? Got asked for a piece of walnut recently. 4.8m x 1.2m Kiln dried. They didn’t like my quote. ???????[emoji106]
