  1. How? When the 500i hits wood it drops to 10krpm. Whereas the 461 holds 11-12k in the wood. On a 25" bar. I'd like to see them side by side on a 30" bar, the extra torque of the 500 should come in to play. [emoji106]
  2. That's my point. I ran a 440 25" bar buried in oak, My 461 run a 30" bar, Why would I run a bigger heavier slower saw on the same bar? [emoji12]
  3. Just like my 461 [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  4. So much... However, A close inspection of the new stihl catalogue revealed the 500i will actually run a 30" bar. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  5. Quality job Don. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] That's a nice looking piece of trunk in the last photo. Is it available?
  6. Stihl msa200 No pull cord No exhaust No load noises No mixing petrol Weighs less than a 261 Runs a 14" bar buried in green wood. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

  10. My favourite scouser joke: As julius caesers armies swept across Britain destroying tribe after tribe... They came upon a northern area called toxtethiam. Where there was a great cave. The general sent in two soldiers to search the gloomy cavern. After a few minutes blood curdling cries were heard, then silence. The general sent in ten men. Minutes later the anguished screams of the legionnaires fell silent. A little taken back the general ordered his best centurion with one hundred of romes finest warriors to storm the cave. The men marched into the darkness. Again the sound of frantic violent deaths rang out. Then a blood soaked legionnaire, mortally wounded emerged from the cave... With his dying breath he whispered to the general... It's a trap... There's two of them. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

  12. Hoping for 40% mate. Terrifying news.
  13. Started with 461 25" Then 661 36" Then 880 48" You know it's big when you have to cut from both sides with an 880. [emoji51][emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  14. After he'd taken a load away there was still 6-7m3 I think it's fine mixed with other hard woods. Bright flame good coals , just not oak. [emoji106]
  15. An 80cc saw running a 25" bar???? Where's the bang head into wall emoji?
  16. Wet windy n wild. Blown my empty containers all over the garden. I'm not going out til it's stopped. [emoji946][emoji299]️[emoji100]
  17. I know very little about Corbyn. However I have a great respect for the man because of who his enemies are. Every rich Cnut and their cronies have tried to take him down for years. Can't see any other politician outside the greens who actually want to help the working poor. Can't really see T May making an effort. And I do agree with some sentiments you make Kevin. It's just as Plato said in the republic, It doesn't matter whether you live in a tyranny, a dictatorship or a liberal democracy. All society's are run by the ruling classes for the ruling classes. And you claim to have been knighted by the queen for services to the "empire".[emoji848] I am however in total agreement about Diane Abbott.[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

  19. Big willow to cut up today. [emoji3][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  20. It will dry too fast. Slow drying keeps boards good. [emoji106]
  21. You'll wait months for kiln drying green wood. Poly tunnels are only good for firewood. Too quick for boards, they will "check" Lots of little rips n splits all over. For 2" slabs a year in a dry draughty barn stacked well should get 20-25%mc Some species dry quicker i.e. Ash Some slower i.e. Oak S.chestnut is a liability in slabs as it always wants to split. I've cut 4m x18" logs in half to mill at 2m. Crack!!! Log pops in half! Boards can do the same. It's still worth milling as the wood is very strong and durable. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  22. After careful testing, They were gone. Obviously didn't make enough. [emoji106]
  23. Post marked from Kent?[emoji848]
  24. Do you retension your chain regularly? Should be a little tighter than cross cutting. Heats up more, stretches then needs re tensioning. Cools down etc. That wedge is way too deep. See how it is lifting the board. [emoji106]
