  1. The only echo I would buy is the 620 , i used one for a few weeks working in front of TCD harvester the 620 didn’t miss a beat
  2. Yeah Doug is still going he’s moved shop, and now Abbey Garden Machinery has gone under he’s the only one in tavy, try Dartmoor garden machinery, a guy called Carl, I would take all my kit and chipper to him for all the major works, he’s based in Princetown
  3. Yeah very brittle to , but any tree in the rain can be crap, for me it’s been eucalyptus for a long time, smooth, heavy , can’t really do to much to them apart from crown raise, dead wood or dismantle, but since coming over here to aus I don’t have much choice and actually there not as bad as some of the other stuff they have here. Palms are pretty crappie to work on some have huge spikes on the foliage which pack a punch beyond what hawthorn do, they also are very messy and home to various cockroaches, spiders and possums. But hey you can’t have everything at least it’s dry so I can’t complain to much.
  4. Heavy rain most the night here, saves watering the lawn later but this wasn’t in the brochure
  5. I feel for you beaux and Matt up there I’m glad I jumped ship when I did having dry day’s makes a big difference physically and mentally
  6. We use a port a wrap for bits of pruning and small dismantling and a friction drum for the big take downs and a mixture of 2-4 pulleys to take the sting out. But I guess it depends on what you want to be doing, you can always add to your kit along the way
  7. Congratulations Gand hope mother and baby are both doing ok
  8. nice end to the weekend here in Aus early night then start all over again tomorrow
  9. If you’ve got a pull rope on the stem quickest way down would be on a figure of eight, but spiking down is good practice sometimes good to go out your comfort zone. Nice to hear your enjoying it, good luck buddy.
  10. Jon is half that size now as Paul would know after visiting him last year, he’s such a genuine bloke and when he’s your friend he’s one of those guy’s that would drop anything to come and help you, thanks for the pictures, and weaver is looking great buddy cheers Wayne
  11. I would talk to the guy you contract to about the situation, if he’s a dick about it then I’d be on the phone to all the other local tree guy’s drumming up new contacts once in a good position you can sack off the dickheads and bad payers and work who you want to work for. Shitty situation for you bud, but good luck.
  12. Sip canopy are great imo I’ve been here in Aus for 4 months now and they have been fine even in temperatures up to the 40s. I know a couple of guys who wear the cloggers who have nothing bad to say about them. I would definitely buy anything you need before you come over as we don’t any decent supplies here like honey bro’s or FR Jones.
  13. Remove as much of the fence as possible then fell
  14. It sure has beaux , how’s Dartmoor treating you these day’s
  15. Well it’s gone from bushfires to flooding here now in Aus, been raining hard since Thursday night and is now Sunday morning, storm Damien has certainly hit over here pretty hard.
  16. I’ve been thinking about getting a ninja, do you use a foot loop with it, or knee ascender. And your right the notch is a spitting image
  17. I’d probably go for a 261 if you’re looking for a small ground saw
  18. Ahhh easy stubs, one handing it, obviously [emoji849][emoji6]
  19. That’s a real tidy job mate, thanks for posting
  20. Oh and the free socks you get with them are crap I found my bridgedales to be far more comfortable
  21. Worst boot I’ve had, if it’s raining then I would probably wear wellies than them, the grip is not bad to be fair but I think my feet are just suited to a wider boot like the hiax. Just my personal opinion.
