  1. 4 identical posts ...... ok we get it you have a girlfriend! ?
  2. And yet you don’t want trees to have weight reduced on poor unions/rot pockets or for trees to be felled. You cant have it both ways fella.
  3. Anyhoow, back to topic for @Smith126 if you are work busy leave it and move on, seems a lot of hassle!
  4. Suppose you could argue a tree of great size with a risk of failure within a populated area should be reduced in size and weight where risk is and was identified as I’m quite sure we can’t or shouldn’t value a tree being left as a risk over human life?!
  5. I’ve copy and pasted two and I’ll add this one as every tree owners defence at which point how can you be done for negligence as there is always a balance of risk, it’s not like we should remove weight or fell every tree.
  6. Throw away remark that’s a bit silly coming from someone of your pedigree. Sureley based on the below they knew it was rotten so should have advised taking weight off that union?? Poor care and negligence are one and the same. "You couldn't tell from the outside how big the hole was with normal maintenance who much it was rotten in the inside," Covert said. "I don't think this could have been prevented."
  7. Now we are on to cause and effect the tree failing was not an accident it failed due to poor care, negligence.
  8. Surely if negligence is to blame it can’t be an accident?
  9. What would happen if a TO refused work on a TPO’d tree which later failed and caused damage, killed, injured someone or blocked a railway or caused subsidence, who would defend the negligence?

    Reversion

Ok so same subject different sides.
  11. Suppose if you have a written quote and the invoice matches the price quoted and it states all waste to be taken away then if they don’t pay in full you could say waste to be left for reduced price, it is theirs after all. I suggested this in gest a few week ago however I don’t think this is a route I would take personally.
  12. I had it done yesterday, have no thoughts on it yet other than I hate taking it easy and doing nothing.
  13. Billinge, Wigan end.
  14. If you can afford a smaller one without borrowing then go smaller first mate. You can get buy with a smaller one whenever your big one is having maintenance/down time but equally it can get in the narrower gaps. Then in a few years go bigger and I’m sure with your ethic you won’t need to borrow then either.
  15. Fine but you can use a smaller grinder for a week or so whilst you go through your grinder that you have now. It seems pointless buying extras as you’ll still have down time swapping things about. With that hat efficiency I have saved you some serious time that you can now spend with a) your mrs or b) another stump ?

    customer wont pay

I’d take the 1/3rd extra thank him for his time then tip wood chip to the measure of 2/3rds on his drive a day or so later. Job done.
  17. Would it not make more sense to buy a 2nd grinder?
  18. Does you Mrs work Stefan? Maybe get her to do your admin and organising as well as dealing with customers so you basically get told where to go, when and in what order, price jobs together after the grinder is away as it’s still time together and take someone on, work with them closely to get them to your standards then slowly retreat and leave them to graft for you so you can then: a) still make money and b) spend more time with the mrs and pooches. Glad to hear your doing well though buddy, enjoy your break!
  19. Anything covered in ivy, it’s proper annoying!
  20. Rope guide for me every time.
  21. Haha forgot about matey boy!
  22. Yep agree, nothing better than having a conversation and speaking all things tree like your next to each other except your not.
  23. Get well soon, personally prefer climbing lid but like Steve don’t fasten the strap when on the floor. I believe comms should be compulsory now in tree work and if you had a direct link to your climber who knows he could have told you he was topping it out before he did so and you wouldn’t have been where you where. I wont work without them now to the point even when I sunny climb I take 2 comms kits.
