Hens teeth these days. Im one of only two Scottish lads left. Norgies have managed to squeeze the rest out.

Good money in Norway too. The unions are bloody strong so the companys cant rape you. We get a bonus each day we're there and a night-shift hardship bonus which doubles that. Every hour over 12 hours is an extra £100 and if we get less than 30 minutes for lunch we get another £100. After day 15 its £1000 a day. Holidays is an extra £250 a day, anmd Norway has many. So if you do a 16 hour day on a public holiday and miss lunch after day 15 you've made over £2000 for a knackering days work. We work 4 weeks on 4 weeks off. If they ask you to work in yiour off-period you can say no, but each day in your off-period is classed as a day after 15 days. Money to be made if you like working like a slave.

12-16 hour shifts for 15 to 21 days straight feel long enough as it is to worry about if there is light outside or not. We work a 24 hour crew anyway, so from September till March (roughly) its constant dark for those that are on Night-shift anyway. The only really annoying this is not being able to see as well. So we all wear Head Torches everywhere. Of course the rigs have lights but if you're in a Tool Basket ior Container its pitch black.

I work in Norway, although rarely on-shore but on the Oil Rigs so my input might be limited. I still have a house in Stavanger and Im over here right now as I have a few days to work in the office. I sometimes work off of Hammerfest and have a job coming up there soon. Yes, its dark all the time now, and bloody freezing. The Norgies just work around it. Keep the same hours etc. Airports dont close at the first flurry of snow like in the UK. The Law is in the Winter you must use Winter Tyres, studded tyres are optional but I love them so people can carry on regardless of the weather.

Having seen Yes but the Saw thats rated to a higher RPM than the other saw could in theory pull the other Saw thats rated much lower past its design Spec. Anyway, Rob clears this up by stating that you will not be free reving the Saws anyway and in the cut they will be running way below max Revs of the slowest Saw anyway so its all good. Id be interested in seeing whatever Bar Adapter you'd need to run a 088 and a 066 on the same bar though. If thats resolved, as it must be as Rob has done it then Im getting closer to being able to mill big stuff soon. -

Ohhh, good to know. I'll watch the vid over lunch today. My next question would be (without being able to watch the vid yet) is the stud mounts for the bars are different for an 064 and an 088. How could you mount them on the same bar? -

No, you're being a d1ck becuase you're not just asking for facts you're posting up the link he sent you in private then making out he's some swivel eyed loon. If he had concrete proof and 'facts' as you call it do you think he'd be here asking questions? Instead of being such a Rocket how about just answering him? You dont think the seller sells hot gear? Great just say so.

He's discussing the possibility and referring to the seller without publicly naming and shaming him. You managed that all on your own by being a sneaky cant (hook) and posting the link he sent to you in private. Nasty move on your part and simply no need for the way you're berating him for asking his question.

I doubt he expected some oddball to request a screenshot of an auction that has been removed from ebays system? The feedback is what he's referring to and thats all there is to go on. Asking for more evidence than that is baking mad.

How on earth would he have a link to the trailer add? Its an auction thats ended, ebay removes the listings off their systems within weeks now. The feedback is clear to see......Well, for normal folk anyway.

I dont think you know how ebay works. He clearly sent you a link to his ebay page. Surely you dont think theres an actual link to the exact spot on the feedback page where it clearly states the serial number has been ground off do you? How much spoon feeding do you need?

Awesome, thanks you. There is a local Tree Surgeon who pops up on here sometimes who I've started doing a bit of Milling for. Hopefully I'll get a few cash jobs coming my way in the future through him. Ive mostly been milling Oak Beech and Elm, so understand what slow means. Interesting to know Ash is a nightmare. Whats it like fresh felled? I think there is a few big trees waiting for me when come back from my hitch in Norway. Few Oaks too. No cash involved, but I take a few slabs each time.

Thanks again, so maybe 12 passes in 9 hours plus set up time with the logs and chain swapping/Sharpening? Not bad going at all. Do you ever get days when it all goes wrong? What do you tell the customer then? Always found the ladder great on Oak Rounds like you're milling in that picture, no issues at all. but when you get some lumpy logs its a pain to set up I find. Wedges, spacer blocks etc. The First Cut System looks the Dogs Bollox plus it breaks down into 1.5 meter sections so easily goes in the back of my Jeep. How do you advertise for work?

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. So the £325 includes fuel and oil? Out of interest how much slabbing would you get done in 9 hours? Ive just bought the Panther First Cut System. 3 x 1.5m sections so setting up time should be greatly reduced from my normal ladder set up. Looking forward to using it.
