  1. Id suspect that after 2 years only the sapwood will have started to rot. As for how to deal with them for firewood. If transportation to a desired location is not posible then split them with a Splitting Maul (axe) insitu, or hire a petrol towable log splitter, preferably a vertical one due to the rounds size, or pay someone to come in a do the job for you.
  2. There is the oil you get at IKEA they sell for oiling their chopping boards. It’s fairly cheap. It’s a white mineral oil I believe? I’d avoid oils like Olive and sunflower as they (supposedly ) go rancid. I’d use Danish Oil (again! ?) there is an even more food safe version just for this. Danish Oil 500ml - Voc Free and no toxins -Chopping Boards and Internal Woodwork: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Great prices on your favourite Home brands, and free delivery on eligible orders.
  3. Slight whiff of sexisim there Eggy Lad.
  4. She should certainly be reprimanded. Written warning maybe? Sacked? No. Again, as loathed as I am to get Micks panties all bunched up again perhaps she should face the same discipline as Corybn did? Sacked and then getting her old job back within 3 months?
  5. You don’t need to visit a Tin Foil Hat website, the facts speak for themselves. The Jewish Community the U.K. over where quite worried of a Labour Government under Steptoe with the open season on attacking the Jewish People. The Party even drove out their own Jewish MP’s. So yeh, no Tin Foil Hat needed, you do need to remove your Rose Tinted Glasses though. ?
  6. Has he purged the Labour Party? He almost got rid of Steptoe but there was fierce opposition and he’s back in already. He may even get the whip back in 3 months time. The Nazi elements of the Labour Party might be wounded but they are certainly not out. To think this behaviour is even remotely comparable to a stern female is laughable.
  7. That’s weak, even for you Mark where weak is your MO.
  8. Well good for you. I’ll quite happily criticise the Tories all day long. Their handling of this C-19 nonsense springs to mind. But as you say, there’s being mean and there’s genuine bullying. I think it’s fair to draw a comparison between the two main parties. Mean lady on one side. Anti-Semitic bullying on the other.
  9. Actions speak louder than words. I don’t think there’s a bigger Labour Fanboi on here regardless how much you protest it’s not the case.
  10. Not really. I don’t think Patel is a Bully, but there is clear evidence there was/is systematic anti-Semitic bullying within the Labour ranks. Those in glass houses and all that....
  11. You'd think an ardent Labour supporter would be keeping their head down in light if the recent revelations regarding real bullying within the Labour ranks. A guide to Labour Party anti-Semitism claims WWW.BBC.COM The roots of the row that continues to overshadow the Labour Party.
  12. The “best to buy” will very much depend on your budget. But a cheap 36” Chinese Alaskan at around £100-£120 would get you up and running fairly cheaply. Obviously you’ll need a 36” bar and chains but regardless what you go for you’ll need those. That will allow you to cut 30” wide logs.
  13. Of course those that like to use a Winch are also allowed to use common sense and not use the winch 100% of the time. If you come to a lump when using a winch you are allowed to stop using the winch, back off on the revs and get past the lump then go back to using the winch. Same goes for the start and end of the log.
  14. I sold my Alaskan Milling set up to quickly fund a Classic Car purchase that came outta the blue. But I had an 088 and a 48” Chilaskan. I have a Mobile Bandsaw I use for my own stuff and doing a few days here and there for customers. I’ll most likely buy a Panther Mill and a new saw in the New Year. I’ve had a lot of requests for Slabbing Logs bigger than my Mill can handle, so should pay for itself quite fast. It’s just finding the time.
  15. Well worth spending the money on. I find it reduces body fatigue by about 70%.
  16. Good old Mora-Knives I see. I go through a brand new box of them a trip. Double Handled draw version.
  17. Why thank you. Im sure the vast majority will disagree though. (Do you mind if I wait till payday to send the cheque? ) No, no private education for me unfortunately, or maybe fortunately going by the stories my Dad told my Mum of his time at Boarding School. Council house born and raised.
  18. I’ve access to a 10m 30” Oak. Might be worth milling as is?
  19. Do you have fond memories looking at his tattoo's? Did he tell you stories about them, where he got them and why? If the answer is yes then perhaps it was all worth it after all? I used to have a 6 pack in my twenties, its a bit wobbly these days. Man, I wish I never bothered having that six pack, its a bit ugly now. Ive never bothered with a Tatoo myself, always fancied one but no idea what Id get. The closest I ever got was a traditional one when we where down in Tonga, but we ran out of days left of the holiday. Maybe one day.
  20. Maybe? I bought it used and was tuned/dialled in when I got it. It’s perfect for little jobs.
  21. I have one of these, they are all the same but mine is branded SIP. Very happy with mine for what it is. Dimensionally accurate and a lovely finish. Only good for hobby sized still though. I used it to plane up all the Oak for my wee ones Cot and her kitchen Steps, slats for beds etc. We've got a traditional cast iron 12" Planer/Thicknesser for chunky pieces.
