  1. You’re using a 661, not an 088, 880 or an 881. I think the people who have raised concerns are all using bigger bars and bigger saws and for whatever reason have had issues. You’re about the third guy to say it’s all working fine with a 066, 660 or a 661 like it has any relevance. I ran a 066 with a 36” GB low-pro bar and had no issues, but it’s irrelevant when discussing 120cc saws. I genuinely don’t know if it’s user error or a product error. But the guys that have used the Low-pro bars on the 120cc saws seem to have issues with the sprockets and the guys with smaller saws, including myself, have not.
  2. I think that’s the point, 36” bar and a smaller saw seems to be best suited to Low Pro. Anything bigger than that seems to have low of “user errors”.
  3. Id never intentionally "blue" Oak. It would be a poor imitation and a surface only treatment to to try and recreate a deep and natural process thats taken potentially 50 plus years to create. If its stained then "great" turn a defect into a positive. To try and recreate that with bottle of filings and vinegar? I'll leave that to others....
  4. Thats my issue as well. Folk wanting to see the slabs at the bottom.
  5. Strange, it seemed your point was he’s not a Nutjob and is actually playing those who call him out on his BS like a fiddle. Perhaps he’s both. Guess we’ll just have to read his book to find out.!🤣
  6. He's either the greatest Troll the internet has ever seen or he's just genuinely barking mad. If he's not on a massive piss take, which his postings on the Window Cleaning Forum seems to indicate then you're clearly saying he's a nutcase as well.
  7. Im assuming his intention is to keep them from getting rung up and pinched by the type that feel its their right to wander around a forest or woodland and help themselves.
  8. Square the bottom off and make it into a Planter?
  9. Just boring regular oak today. [emoji16] How did this slip into the pile? 🤣
  10. I love the Avant. It’s the new 750 and can lift over a ton easy. The Log grab really makes it. Can position a log at almost any angle then gently drop onto the bunks. Not mine unfortunately. He sold his last 650 that was battered to death for not a significant amount under what he paid for it. They hold their value very well. I do need my own loader though, yours sounds like it would have been perfect.
  11. Might be an idea. My Transformer one is over 35 years old now.
  12. Not so big. 18”-24” wide depending on the log. 2”, 2-/14” and 3” thick. 2m to 3m long. Maybe longer? Think that’s to much green? I’ll most likely sticker them and sell them seasoned anyway.
  13. 20+ slabs each. Even if I give them away at £100 each thats two bags of Sand.
  14. Its a world of difference. Im winching at home but this makes it so much easier. Plus sliding the slabs right off onto the forks.
  15. Proper knackered now, like. We're going halfers on them so thats why they're laid out and not stickered as tomorrow we'll divvy them up. And as I jetted each log down first I managed to make a single band last the whole day. Never managed that yet. Would never manage it with Softwood mind. Ive had bands give up the ghost after a single DF log (30").
  16. Does not bode well. Less (slabs) is more sometimes.
  17. Ive a few slabs with the same iron staining. Was gonna use it for carcassing or something like that. It actually works quite well as a feature. Calling it "blue Oak" will maybe bring in the customers.
  18. Managed to knock out over 40 slabs. All 2-3”. One log had some “Roughty Rot”. The Farmer can keep them. 🤣
  19. Some Milling at a customers today. To some it’s Brown Oak, to me it’s just Oak. 🤣 Splitting the timber with the owner. Works for me.
  20. 1, Is it in demand? Id say not. Whilst Beech can be nice when Milled I really do not think there is much of a market for it. Not like Oak and Elm. Some will say that they get customers that will buy slabs based on the grain and features alone. My (limited) experience is customers know what they want and thats the end of that. Ive literally just had a phone call for 10m x 650mm of Elm, never had anyone ask for Beech apart from a few small pieces for making pens etc. 2, You'd need a bigger saw than that for 1m wide beech. Ive only heard good things about the Panther Mills and will be getting one as soon as they are back in Stock. Unless you're planning on doing a lot of Milling you're gonna be investing a serious amount of cash for next to no return. 3, If you do mill it then 3-4" Slabs.
  21. Think the lead pellets would be too small for the detector to bother with. The tone would tell you its a very small amount of metal.
  22. Hmmm, now you mention it it sure looks like that. 😮 Not sure if it was just the angle of the video though? Something to watchout for though. Yeh, have a couple of Samoyeds. Good mouse and rat catchers, and moles too.

  24. Plug swapped out this morning and had a wee play. Happy with how it cuts, did not have any kick back issues but the guard can be a bit fiddly as its on the wrong side. I knew this was an issue from seeing a few youtube video's. 6-1/4" cut in the vid and just over 4" at 45 degree's. video-1614866690.mp4 video-1614865630.mp4
  25. If I was selling a product thats what Id say as well. I hear VW said there was no cheating with their diesel emissions. Till they where caught with their panties down. Id need thicker knee pads than you wear Saul if I was gonna get down on my knees and swallow what that from the horses mouth.
