  1. That’s about what I’m paying for the next 5t I’m getting. When is Latch considered oversized? The stuff Im getting is 20-24”. I’ll have to drop the FLS a bell when im home.
  2. That’s good going. Thanks for the tip, I’ll do that.
  3. What did you pay for it? How do you go about contacting the Forestry?
  4. I’ve a bunch of logs that I’ll get 4” posts out of. Soul destroyingly slow going. If my basic math is correct £750m3 is £27f3. So much the same. Considerably more than others here suggested the going rate was. Supply and demand I guess?
  5. How much are you getting for your rails per cubic foot? Since my Mill is situated behind my new fence I’ve been getting loads of folk stopping and asking me to make them the same. I’m now short of supply I’ve stated £30 a cubic foot and sold everything I currently have spare at that. Wish I could get more but only have another 5t on its way.
  6. I guess it will just be one of life’s little mystery’s.
  7. If his business model requires European Labour and the U.K. is still flooded with Europeans who have gained a right to stay in the U.K. due to living here before a certain deadline why are they not working for him?
  8. Not when there is 80% of wages handed out. There is literally millions of Europe’s who have gained the right to stay in the U.K. They might enjoy working in a Pub, but I expect they like free cash even more. Round my way, pre-Covid the vast majority of Pub/Restaurant workers where British students. I suspect it’s no different now.
  9. Only because the government is paying U.K. based citizens 80% of their wages in furlough. One has to give. Either allow controlled (heavily controlled) migration from European, which can be ended quickly and not have to fund their children back in Eastern Europe indefinitely after or quit the charade that is furlough and get the dossers back to work. Simples. (Smiley face)
  10. You should really try a 60cc saw, or even something in the 50cc range before giving up. It’s a night and day difference. I can noodle through oak with a blunt chain with a 362 without it bogging down.
  11. Have you considered a more powerful saw? Others have mentioned it but 40cc saws are fine for ringing up branches etc. Something like a Stihl 362 and you’d be laughing. Lightweight and powerful. You’d also have the size of spikes you’re after. [emoji16]
  12. Just following your lead Legless. Two can play your game, I'll just need to get drunk as you to be on a level pegging. You'd not want me to highlight all the the times you mention me unsolicited wee man. You might not know how often you do so but you'll be in for a hiding. And you keep PMing me too. You're a horny old man thats for sure. xxx
  13. No different than Maple or Birch Sap alcohol. Of course pointless pointing this out when it’s been felled, Legless. Still pissed up I see?
  14. That he’s in America or you’re in your usual drunk mode?
  15. Because he’s in the US? Are you drunk again, Legless?
  16. You dont think you’d be better off asking on a yank forum?
  17. Worst ways to spend the last of Spring. Caught a 4kg Cod two days ago. The hotel cooked me up 3 fillets.
  18. I’ve never really considered Scotland to be windy? On the coast perhaps. In a managed forest I’d have thought only the trees on the edges would be affected badly by the wind. Would the trees further in not be ok?
  19. So you’re excluding the highlands from your U.K. wide report? 🤣
  20. So the Highland grown Softwood is ok then?
