  1. Your telling me, my eyes still feel abit sore now, only finnished logging 3hours ago! Probably be a few trees down with this aswell, especially with the soden ground aswell
  2. Does anyone know if we're gonna have any frost or cold weather that may influence people to burn some wood!!
  3. Did probably around 10 cube of split logs, cut to 8"length in 3hrs with my dalen 2054, was a mix of pine, poplar, cherry, apple, ash and abit of sycamore. Very very windy so even with chainsaw hat on with viser down, saw dust kept getting in me mince pies which was irritating, and got absolutely soaked
  4. Very nice clean barn mate! And a 160 cubes in 3 weeks is descent!!
  5. Nice splitter mate, whats it like with the 4 way split
  6. I havnt made any adjustments to my processor as havnt felt the need to, so how do you find your modifications, firstly are they an improvement! and if sow why??
  7. Haha hold on one sec I'll just reach to my back pocket and see if ive got a spare 20k hinding away in there
  8. Have any of you struggled to supply customers because of not getting/keeping logs dry, when we struggled a few years back we just warned them that the logs may be a little wetter that they should, most people especially the regulars didnt mind, all I suggested was star a load of logs infront of the fire just to help them dry ready for the following evening,
  9. Bloody hell, so what happened, the high water level firced the machine over and also causedabit of a land slide, also I that processor operational, I suppose as Iits all hyhydraulic hoses it should be ok and shouldn't let any crap in the pipes, probably will need to just clean the silt out of rollers, splitter ram etc which may have jammed
  10. Also with the warm weather meaning potentially less sales than predicted, have any of you guys got loads of wood still sitting there wating to be sold, be good maybe to see hlsome pics aswell;)
  11. Been a little more busier this week but still no where as busy as we should be, then again two days this week we had warm sunshine with temps at around 16 degrees. Although im not complaining about that, not really firewood weather unfortunately!
  12. Cloudy with abit of sharp wind now and then and it looks like its going to rain pretty soon...... so I had better get chopping these ligs quick otherwise im going to get soaked haha
  13. I pjt pay for a cab to take then home as one its the quickest way and two the job can still go on, if it was a genuine emergency then I probably wouldn't expect anything for the fair, then again if the worker was genuine he would not want paying that days wage in extange for me helping him out ( thats what id do if I was the worker) but if it was aload of bullshit then id be pissed!!
  14. Or kiln dry the chip, weve a few people come up to us and off a kiln dryer etc, infact a bloke came up 3 days ago about a biomass boiler and whilst its a good idea, I think its alot of work having to cip brush up then dry it, then finding space to store chip then feed the boiler, etc etc, I think seasoning is the way id go for now, although I reckon if I understood it more and had it set up properly then id go for it! Also can you get a boiler that with burn brush and branches without having to chip it
  15. Really..... itake it you would store your timber outside to seasonit then chip it into a barn and turn it every now and then untill its ready to burn??
  16. Wouldn't you just generally put in mixed on not be too fussy seperating it.... we havnt got a boiler, also just wondering I take it the chip dosnt have to be dried e.g can you put freshly chipped stuff in
  17. I find it funny when some say that firewood is too much hard work for a poor living blah blah blah, the point is peoples mind set, in the end of the day money is there to be had so go and get it , if you cant be bothered dont moan and dont moan at those wbo can be bothered and say ohhh whys he getting more than me Another thing money aint everything, one thing that really pisses me off is those who say there skint but always have a fag in there mouth abd can go down down the pub each night!!!!
  18. This was yeaterday, still on that big pile here ive just found a few lumps of what looks like chesnut or something similar that are about 5ft diameter (largest peice) so will have to get the 880 with the 46" bar out for that one which im not looking forward to lol
  19. Yh I can imagine, im still doing the lifting part unfortunatley........... Might have to steal a few ideas from youve done haha
  20. Only if you use ploil to heat your home, others have gas and electric, beside I think tje majority of people now just have a nice fire going in the evening for something to watch in the back ground and admire
  21. Ohh I see........ so yours is one of a kind, was it a pig to build?
  22. My dalen 2054 is abit of a pig to change aswell, and ur meant to take the chain off to sharpen but I dobt, I just end up sitting on the processor filing away with great difficulty
  23. Love the idea with the digger and the procesor being an all in 1 unit!! Whats the maximum diameter it can cut and is it quicker orcslower than the factory built processors o
  24. As you can see guys had a lump of wood with the root still on, didnt have chainsaw gear on and couldnt be bothered to buck it anyway so my dalen stepped up to the plate lol:)
