  1. We've used mewps regularly,as said before theyre another tool in our box so why not use em if its increases safety, increases productivity and it more ergonomical. There seems to be a stigma attached to mewps like if you use a mewp your a p00f! I dont care what skyhuck says we use em when we can.
  2. Be interested if anyone comes up with something as ive scallop edged many many flower and shrub beds in my time, all by hand with a spade or half moon edger.
  3. Yeah chris at informed trees is another good training provider although chris doesnt do the training anymore more likely to be alan mcpherson or matt cooper who does the training/assesments on the small trees course
  4. Hi mate, ive done some training under chris white at treevolution and theyre a really good training provider. If its small tree felling course your intending to do it will probably be held at devilla forest in fife, just over the kincardine bridge. You could volunteer your services to some tree surgeons local to you, infact there was an advert on here recently for a central belt tree company looking for groundies. Be prepared for dragging branches to the chipper, rakin up cuttings and man glitter and being totally fuc#*d at the end of the day. Look at the employment section on this arbtalk site, failing that just phone round some local tree surgeons-some will have had this before so they could be pretty dubious about your commitment. Good luck
  5. Still on immigration...fs Round and round and round...
  6. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1962693070665572&id=100007746932853 Mogg the next tory leader ??
  7. Ive got a tenner on leather chaps and a peep hole bra..
  8. I see the pseudonym thing cropping up a couple of times in this thread and id just like to remind folks that some of us with pseudonyms arent hiding behind a fake name, strategiclally waiting to pounce on others with horrible put downs and awful comments...i just liked stihlmadasever cause i was a stihl enthusiast at that time(im cured of that now) and it kinda flowed as a word. My profile with all my details are there for all and sunder to peruse at your leisure. Im sure i speak for many others too... Although there are some who i know will never identify themselves due to extreme views...not that i give a toss-to each his own and all that
  9. Love catching up with your daily goings on silky, very inspirational reading this thread. Keep fit Keep happy Keep goin mate
  10. Welcome back... So is that you falling asleep in the right of the picture...?
  11. Yeah mate..it just gives you more balance on longer laterals. Ideally less friction is better for ease of movement so 2 cambium savers (1 on each anchior point) or even 1 cambium saver on one anchor point and 2 carabiners (opposing gates) on a taped sling on the other anchor point.
  12. That was a picture i pulled off the internet ages ago so i could do the same thing with my own kit. Heres a picture of my own setup (At home obviously)
  13. This was something i considered a while back when i first got my treemotion and nicked the bridge with a silky. I didnt bother using a secondary bridge in the end but if it makes you feel safer...why not. I dont see the need for a supplementary on limb walks but if your not getting a good work position u can go to using the other end of your rope in a V rig set up.
  14. Why the oversized dawgs on a 261?
  15. "few more Sun readers frequenting this thread than I initially thought. Who'd have thought" I dont need to read the sun... If i want too read bollocks i just see what matelots been posting lately about immigration
  16. Andrews cervinos. Very good boots
  17. Aint coleeeeeen pregnant again to the "Lump"...
  18. Kinda answered your own question.. Tis true it be a bit underhandedly stealthy... But as you said thats.. business init.
  19. Husky 346 on a 15" bar if you can find a decent one,failing that a stihl 241 14" bar.
  20. Daenerys was only a baby when her brother vaserys(the tosser who was killed with a gold crown by droggo) and her escaped robert baratians rebellion against the targarians. Daenerys is a good deal older than jon snow
  21. So baelish got his comuppence... the undead have a dragon...and john snow pumped his aunty... Cant wait till the next series
  22. R we still on immigration...??? Hmmf! I ll come back later me thinks
  23. I feel i should add its local authority i work for and contrary to public opinion i dont were spikes on pruning jobs, neither do we sit in vans suppin T all day and we definetly give a shit about our work.
  24. Started doing tree work when i was in my 30's-ground work, cross cutting, felling etc,im 45 now.Started climbing regularly just about 40... i think. Its a good 4 man team,we all love the job which makes the work easier.
