  1. Really thought spurs were gonna take it to the last game there. Well done the foxes..Cant wait to see Gary Linekar on match of the day tonight..he'll be ecstatic
  2. We are all products of our enviroments, you've just adapted to yours thats all
  3. I hope so, cause with that kind of opinion hes gonna get someone seriously hurt
  4. Eh...???? So you would rather risk droppin a chunk of wood onto a clients property than setup rigging. How is the tree rated at...i dont even understand that,if this is your genuine opinion mate you'll either cost your employer a fortune in liability insurance and lose your job or your career will be cut short by havin big balls and no brains (literally as you will have dropped a big section onto your own head)
  5. Ive mostly been able to make a nice brash pile and step cut and chuck into the brash pile. I could probably count on one hand the times ive had to put in blocks and capstans. To be fair i dont do many really big trees, targets below can be avoided by light rigging with slings and crabs.
  6. Nice work mate,i always like seeing other climbers using the throwline.Beautiful Copper beech and glad too see you using the silky...i thought most were seduced by the 150 now
  7. Buy an older 261, got a 2011 model awhile back and its an absolute dream..no issues
  8. Anyone ever forgot to refill the chain oil resevoir yet...or to tell the groundie your cutting...they are really quiet. Luved the stihl battery saw after using it only once
  9. Ballsey move on the wires...i likey!
  10. Personally,i wouldnt trust anyone who "lost" there skills cards and certificates. Its not difficult to put important documents into a safe place at home. If thats his kind of mentality whats he gonna be like on site...oops sorry boss forgot my boots...oh sorry mate forgot what time i was supposed to start today...the van??? I dunno...um... i parked it...somewhere.
  11. I used to work removing asbestos so i know the type of asbestos used in roofing. As mentioned before dont drop anything on it as its quite brittle and could break. As long as asbestos is left intact its perfectly safe, its only when its broken and the dust and fibres are airborn that its dangerous. I wouldnt even bother with a facemask just leave well alone. If by chance some cuttings do fall onto the roof then id say take precautions with a face mask. The chances of inhaling dust and fibres while out in the open air is miniscule anyway infact breathing in petrol fumes and wood dust all day is actually just as bad for your health
  12. Treemotion or sequoia for me
  13. It'll be an intresting last couple of games if spurs win tomorrow night at stoke and put more pressure on the foxes.Nice to see the hammers in contention for european football, billic has them playin well
  14. I can scamper along branches like that without spikes.... and 2 grand f#@! that
  15. Hi all, I was just curious as to how many of you guys and girls use stihl 2 stroke oil in your machines. Ive never used it and not had that many issues with my stihl machines, stihl do recommend you use there own 2 stroke oil. The reason im asking is a mate has problems with a newer stihl chainsaw,he returned it too the place he bought it to be told the saw would not be fixed under warranty as he didnt used stihl brand 2 stroke mix... Im of the opinion the seller is playing silly buggers. What do you think...
  16. Totally agree, unless im gettin paid i aint climbing, especially 200ft
  17. Treemotion or sequoia will fit you perfect,im 30-32 waist and ive used both
  18. I was taught to back cut above the gob 1 inch or so
  19. Im unsure if the public were warned or the situation was explained to the people who complained. The monolith in question was in a park,so a high amenity area, and i understand peoples concerns but it seems to me that LA's seem too concernd about complaints being made, tarnishing the councils reputation than actually doing whats right and promoting a more diverse ecology in woodlands and in this instance parks
  20. Although i agree with the concept i have to say that as an LA employee we do try to ensure our urban landscape is maintained, safe and pleasing to the eye. It is the latter however that can prove problematic- for example a dead stem was left as habitat for various wildlife to enjoy but had to be removed due to the constant complaints from the public. Unfortunately aesthetics are more important to some than promoting wildlife ecology.
