  1. Does anyone use grease in their cordless hedge trimmers. I can't find anything on line to say if you should.
  2. I would be more worried about the damage done to my body then to my saws using pump fuel. I was lucky that I only had to change the rubbers over in two saws when I went over to Aspen but well worth it. No more sore heads at the end of the day.
  3. I have a Hymari 13 ton tractor mounted splitter I would like to sell. In good condition and barn stored. Can be worked from a vertical or horizontal position. Looking for £400 ono. Can't seem to upload photos at present but if interested please pm me an email address and will send over. Thanks
  4. I would do small claims. 15 mins on phone to fill out forms and any costs you pay plus interest is added on to their bill. As long as you have everything in order your side then its easy. The best advice I was given is to have your full t and c on your website and all quotes let the customers know where they can be found.
  5. I would go Cousin atrax then. If you wanted more grip then they do a 12m rope that is meant to work really well with the zz. But the atrax is made foe the zz.
  6. Cousin atrax is brilliant on the zz. Thought you were a srt climber.
  7. I have yet to meet anyone that climbs on two ropes yet. Drove past an aa approved frim yesterday and the climber was only on one rope. Is this allowed by the aa?
  8. Just been reading through this tread and wanted to ask would you not just want to be a Ltd company to be more tax efficient. Since going Ltd I'm able to control how much tax I personally pay. I wish I had done it sooner as I would have saved a fortune.
  9. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

    • FOR SALE
    • USED

  10. Went to Merrest Wood with the hope of doing Countryside management but ended up on the tree surgery course by mistake and was to shy to say anything. Had to be rescued within my 1st week but stuck with the course. Did my work placement in Dublin which was great fun but full on days (start at 7 in the yard and then finish at 5 on site before going back to unload) and been doing it now 23 years. Will carry on for as long as possible as I still really enjoy it.
  11. Rope runner pro for £199 plus VAT on Honey brothers at the moment.
  12. I would love to see an article written on how important freelance climbers are to keeping the whole industry going at present. When ever I work with one I always learn something new which I can then pass on. Due to it being slow at present I have been climbing for an aa approved recently. If it was not for the freelance climbers they would not be able to operate on a daily basis. The funny thing is apart from me all the other freelance guys were once employed by the firm and only left because they could not get a pay rise pass £120 on the books. They now charge up to £250 a day. So much for being paye. Yes there is a staff shortage but writing an article like that is not going to help.
  13. Where did I go wrong, I should have stayed working for an aa approved firm (one that pays this guy who wrote the article to do all the paperwork to become arb approved and then on the day of the assessment has to call in a freelance climber to even be able to pass) rather then making a go at earning a decent living with a good work life balance. If working for an aa approve company was so good why did this guy go and start his own company 🤔
  14. Has anyone found that things have picked up yet. Still not running a full week but have work to tie me over.
  15. I have the echo 2511 which has be mod by spud and the 2500. The 2500 is always the go to saw everyday what ever I do. Have to say it is brilliant and worth it for the tool clip alone. I got mine from chainsawbar.co.uk with the panther bars which really makes a big difference to the saws. The only downside is the battery will not last as long as the Stihl 200ap but just take a charger if you need it.
  16. When ever I need more then 30m I aways go for the Xstatic with the bone. Best rope so far I have used.
  17. Been using atrax since I first got the bone and works fine. Its just a bit bouncy with a base tie.
  18. Greenmech also sell a grinder set up so you can sharpen them yourself. I just normally send then to greenmech.
  19. Even with the bulldog bone I use more knots now with srt then I ever did with drt. Who needs a ladder when you can rope walk 😁 Really useful information on this.
  20. Thank you for taking the time to reply to this question. The company is arb approved so in theory they should really be following the guidelines that you have set out above. I spoke to a couple of other climbers that will be attending the site this week and they have all said flat out that they will not do the Plane trees. I will forward this on to them. I understand that large companys have many things to worry about in the day to day running but they do need to look out for the guys that do the work, especially when we are in sort demand.
  21. Just wanted to ask would anyone on here say no to working on London Planes this week. I did a days climbing for a firm on Monday where there are a number of plane trees to Pollard. The guys asked if I would work on them this week and I was honest and said no chance as I cant see why then could just not wait till the winter. Also as paye, could you refuse to work on them.
  22. It is indeed. I'm based just outside West London. Funny thing is I have started contact climbing again to fill up days to a firm in Ealing and they have loads of work at very high prices. If only could target my advertising to those areas I would be sorted 🤔.
