  1. Isn't yew shit habitat? Dunno.
  2. Nah, dumped them in the corner of the garden. Habitat mate!
  3. That was only a small part of it. There were three or four like this.
  4. I am guessing in this case, longbows.
  5. Enough on this last job to wage a war against the French, except it was in France. Went through the chipper though. IMG_1585.MOV
  6. If it gets you there legally, it’s good.
  7. Good first post Mags. How old are you and can you drive are things people might like to know. Good luck.
  8. Every generation moans about the next one.
  9. There’s a guy on the MO owners site who retrofitted hammers instead of the tine/flail things it comes with, transforms it apparently but does invalidate the warranty and can cause issues. Mine is a 1.5 meter which is fine on 9.5 but too big for a 8.4 imo.
  10. I have a MO flail that I now use on the Avant, good on some stuff, not so good on others, best on low scrub like brambles etc. Woody stuff, no chance. Used here for flattening out grindings.
  11. There’s a long lapsed hornbeam coppice where I grew up and I walked the dog as a younger man. When I started in trees and began to identify them I came across a Service Tree right in the middle, no rhyme or reason as to why it is there. Some wingnut like you having a laugh at people 100 years in the future!
  12. I know Mark, it illustrates the tenuous nature of self employment when you rely on your fitness, I broke my arm playing football a good while back, 8 weeks in a cast, then an arm like a noodle for a while trying to climb a tree. I was lucky as I was cash rich at the time so rode it out. If I had a few sprogs looking hungrily at me and a big mortgage it might have been different. Its a bit like musical chairs, you never know when the music stops.
  13. Therein lies the rub. If no one buys it they get it anyway.
  14. It’s a dull subject I know but.. My TW 150 overheated and shut down fairly regularly, so I took off the rad (so simple even I can do it) and put it on the floor and used a high pressure hose on it then an airline to dry it off before refitting. It was astonishing the amount of crap that came off. Never had an issue after that. Not as easy getting the rad off the Schliesing but something I’ll look at.
  15. Septic tanks and Trigger’s wanks?
  16. Just a little reminder to take a blower to work and blow the radiator off (no sniggering) every time you stop the chipper in this heat. Some material like birch seeds and thuja dust can block it in minutes. Thats it, that’s the post.
  17. I worked with my mate back in the UK for many jobs. He had a big tracked chipper and the deal was we gave him the the brush and he fed it as it worked out better that way. Anyway he used to wind me up by saying ‘thanks’ or ‘that’s very kind of you’ or ‘what a nice surprise’ every single time you brought an armful of brash, all bloody day! Ridiculous, but it got so annoying you had to laugh.
  18. Work is full of little idioms and colloquialisms. Are you winning? Just means how’s it going? To be honest you sound a bit of a drainer.
  19. Yeah I saw that and laughed at the commentary. Ridiculous.
  20. What has that bloke got to worry about? Tossed it off his whole life making memes for Facebook.
  21. Did you see the Modern Pentathlon? Meant to be based on the skills and daily routine of a cavalry officer. Mental!
  22. No golds in athletics for the UK. The other sports like BMX, track cycling, skateboarding, sailing and the like are pretty much due to the funding that’s put into them to keep the athletes and coaches funded. I mean well done and everything, but don’t see many velodromes in Kenya do you? The Sudanese are good sailors but are pretty busy being pirates to take time off to compete.
