  1. If my above post was incorrect then I am sorry, however I heard a few "rumors" regarding engine warranty so i asked at the AA show. I was told by a team member that you don't have to worry about that as we'll take care of everything which then led me to my above comment. Jensen's view on the separation of Redwood/Jensen does seem a little different, Ive heard to words "court" being used, a stop on all factory parts ordering with immediate affect, Redwood denying openly the rumors about the separation (Redwood/Jensen continues thread) not dropping the website for a long time etc.. Who knows! I will happily compliment Redwood/Forst on their marketing and overall professional look at shows etc. That is a big budget on marketing!
  2. In my opinion the torque is actually more important, when the flywheel is at it's desired RPM there is lots of inertia. The torque and how it's delivered will keep the flywheel spinning fast and not dropping off to allow the no stress to kick in. Good choice of chipper, the improvements are well thought about.
  3. They purchase their engines from a Kubota engine dealer not direct from Kubota. Whether this is partly why Kubota don't actually back Forst I'm not 100% sure and also wouldn't want to speculate either. For the end user their is nothing really wrong with Forst supporting the engines and the small amount of Warranty work which they will inherit. The problem lies when say there is a manufacturing defect on a batch of new engines (which isn't uncommon on modern cars) Forst unknowingly fit a batch of V1505 Kubota's into chippers and have multiple failures in early hours. Where does that leave the customer who's just paid £16,000 for a new chipper? I'm not saying that will happen but it's possible. Yes Kubota give 2 years on engines. I used to sell GM chippers and if there is an engine fault the Kubota engine dealer attends the fault. Which in my dealings with a few different ones have always been very thorough and professional.
  4. FYI.. Kubota don't actually warrant the engines on Forst machines. *Not that there is normally a problem with Kubota's engines*
  5. Tis a common problem I understand? the axle isn't rated high enough, your GM, TW and Jensen's have axles of +900kg on their 750kg chippers. Its the constant bouncing which causes bent axles leading to excessive tyre wear.
  6. Jensen A530 750kg road tow for hire in Wiltshire and surrounding areas. Currently with 10% off:thumbup: https://www.facebook.com/pages/GA-Groundcare-Ltd/327927340744223?ref=tn_tnmn Like our page too and I'll put the kettle on when you collect In use with a local surgeon this week...
  7. I got sunburn free of charge! Was helping to man the Jensen stand both days.
  8. No worries. More info about us is here https://www.facebook.com/pages/GA-Groundcare-ltd/327927340744223?ref=ts&fref=ts And here GA Groundcare - GA Groundcare Ltd Thanks Ash
  9. Facebook page liked. We are local to you also if you ever need us for hire, service, and sales on any Arb equipment.
  10. Wefixit... You were fighting Redwoods corner, made a new thread about the Redwood/ Jensen continuing so were pro Redwood /Jensen / Forst. Fair enough. I understand you were a service dealer/Sub dealer of Redwood. But because of the dealer structure changes and you have lost access to Jensen from Redwood you are now trying to run the Jensen down against the Forst.
  11. Yes I had a customer ring earlier this week after calling Redwood to be told they couldn't supply parts.
  12. The old 750kg debate... Now some manufactures that don't have a 750kg range will tell you that you cannot build a proper chipper to a weight limit. So starting from the ground up... on this 750kg machine a light and very strong galvanized chassis is used manufactured by Alko. Strength isnt just found in material thickness but also in the shape and design. For example, take a 4mm piece of flat steel, its possible flex it in your hands whereas try and bend a 2mm thick section of 90 degree angle... Next choose the lighter but similar powered turbocharged three cylinder V1105 Kubota engine opposed to the V1505 four cylinder normally aspirated Kubota engine as found +750KG machines The Dry weight of a V1105 is nearly 20kg less than a V1505 engine. Less coolant and less oil in the V1105 again saves a few kg. Flywheel... at the heart a HD flywheel is very much present. No weight just simply shaved off here. Simple, very effective auto tension on the double V belt. No slipping on start up, powering up/down or engine shut down. Hydraulic drive, some manufactures run the hydraulic pump on a Auxiliary style setup with a bracket, pulley and belt setup from the crank.. why? personally i have no idea but there is a take off on every single Kubota engine for a gear driven pump. So lets use it! No additional weight for the sake of it and more reliable! So really all I'm trying to say is just because a machine is under the 750kg weight limit you can still have a heavy duty 6" machine but built with some thought and smart ideas.
  13. It's often how many suppliers it passes through before getting to the end user. For example said O ring made by a company. Either goes to a wholesaler then to JD or straight to JD. Dealer buys it from JD who then sells to the customer. A handful of £5 markups gives you an expensive O ring/s
  14. It would probably be easier going to a hydraulic supplier with your requirements and make your own little remote grease kit up. I can try and check though for a retro fit. Regards Ash
  15. Looks an impressive bit of kit! You'd need some large contracts to make that pay for itself.
  16. Grease bank, Note proper pipework used over clear plastic pipe which often unknowingly splits
  17. Timed shaft / gearbox driven feed rollers for higher grip on handling material
  18. A couple of pics to wet the appetite Good access to engine and flywheel
  19. Feel very nice to use, a nice upgrade from a conventional mushroom button.
  20. Give Arborcut a bell. Robert Ghinn is your man. If you are buying a used Jensen we are now your local dealer. But we also look after all makes and models no bother
  21. I understand your point, I had a Rodeo for 5 years then a DMax for 2 years covering 100k in the 2 years. For example I found I couldn't put a decent tool box in the pickup securely, had a cantilever box in the rear footwells. I now have a Disco commercial and the snap on tool chest is back in, carrys all my gear, securely and un noticed. I moved house and used my old DMax, moving things like coffee table, dinning table, bed, wardrobe wasn't much good as the bed isn't big enough, least with say an freelander/Xtrail or Audi A6 can fold seats down and get bigger things in.
  22. Personally wouldn't say 170hp is much for a 2.5 twin turbo. Boost levels are fairly mild, manufactures are pulling that from 1.6-2.0 TD engines nowadays.
  23. I'm a Dmax fan because it ticks boxes in the work department above the competition. But at the same time I find pickups very impractical. In many ways you can get more in an average estate car. They aren't great motorway cruises, don't carry 5 people very well and aren't secure (in the back) They do lots of things 'ok' But for play Nissan or VW for a more refined play vehicle. Does it actually need to be a pickup? I'd be inclined to get away from the cheaply built/ 1940's leaf spring design and step Into a Shogun/Pathfinder/Xtrail
