  1. There is a place in Leicester that's good Coles nurseries http://colesnurseries.co.uk/
  2. Are the Brian James ones as bad? Mine has an alko hitch on it I think would it be a good idea to change it or add more security? Also is it when attached to vehicle or when stood on its own or both?
  3. Why are they the easiest to steal?
  4. Have you tried going on stihls us website I'm sure they have parts diagrams on it. Also try l and s engineers in uk website as they have parts lists. Worth a try
  5. No worries thanks anyway. I think I will pick up the lidl one next time they have one. It does not matter too much to me as I only use the saw once a month at most!!
  6. I've got mine coming up soon from what I've heard as long as you pay attention you should not fail!!
  7. I'd be interested in that Oregon sharpener if no one else has asked for it thanks Richard
  8. That's the difficulty though isn't it. Letting the market stabilise itself. What happens during the first year /2 years after the state "subsidy" is taken away?
  9. Do business people always aim to be the cheapest quote? I know I don't. I charge the going rate just like landlords do. Not that I agree with the high property prices on all housing be it owned or rented. I worry for my kids chances of buying a house. I would like to move somewhere bigger but can't afford it. Surely the only cure for expensive housing is to flood the market with extra housing? But it won't happen due to planning laws and the fact that builders want to keep prices high? Just my thoughts
  10. Bungalows are about the same price if not more than 3 story houses around here. They have much more land as well. I've got a postage stamp for a garden!
  11. I'd get a roofer in as its 3 stories high and I hate heights or maybe I'm just soft!!
  12. It will be s mini 4 stroke . They have been making them for years. Git a 15 year old 4 stroke Honda brushcutter.that still starts first pull(or second !!) point being they are good little engines just a bit heavy.
  13. I do the occasional day or half day splitting by hand just for my regular customers. £24 an hour. Minimum 2 hours but that's my normal charge for for non machine work. It's surprising how much you can split an hour with a chainsaw for length and splitting axe.
  14. Ivy will grow up anything not that I'd recommend it!
  15. Sorry to hear that. Must be worse than having work stuff go walkies. Hope they catch the b*********
  16. That sounds more like it! I thought I must be reading that wrong!
  17. I know nothing at all about this but is there really only 200 tonnes a day being harvested? That does not seem much to sustain an industry to me. How much does one tree weigh 1,2, 10 tonnes . Between all you firewood producers you must be processing more than 200 t a day?
  18. Am I missing something here? If you can give the bag dimension what is the problem?
  19. I know there is no room for guesstimates with weights and measures. However all the log sellers have been doing something for a long time. Maybe a crate could be made up in various sizes and bags filled inside this. Weights and measures won't care if you give too much away! They want to know you are not giving too little unless it's a controlled substance like alcohol etc. You could sell it as minimum 50kg (not enough I know )as long as people know what they are getting that would not matter. Unless you are willing to try and go down the calorific value route.
  20. Surely you can just weigh one bag of each weight and then sell each as having a minimum weight of xxxKG. Big fuss over not much seems to me?
  21. You can get pretty much what you want if your willing to pay for a bespoke trailer I would think. I've seen trailers with Ali planks as the floor
  22. I worries might well look anyway just out of interest!trailer is at Nottingham anyway not Lincoln
  23. Do you think the banks should have been allowed to fail? I don't think it's great that they were bailed out but what choice was there? It would have been an awful lot worse. The banks that received money should not have been allowed any profit or profit sharing until loan was paid back imo
