  1. No uk government has ever managed to get its “ducks in a row” so it can’t be that
  2. I think batteries will get more efficient. Saving the oil I agree as well as it’s used for far more than fuel. HS2 is daft in my eyes I can’t see how getting to and from all the places it’s going 15-20 mins quicker is worth all the bother and expense of building it but that’s just me as I live nowhere near it and will never use it. I think many towns and cities would be better served improving links around them and to the main rail lines we already have. Or down the south west they could do with better roads and east anglia the same all the way up the coast to hull and beyond.
  3. I think you would want something radio based rather than Bluetooth based to give you decent range. Don’t know about sena headsets though
  4. I like land rovers they are great when they are working:)
  5. 4 reasons spring to mind. 1 the oil won’t be cheap enough forever 2 governments will make the tax too high to be able to drive using petrol anymore. 3 environmentalists will win the argument in the end and get all the emissions at power stations instead of coming out the back of vehicles! 4 the above mean they need to change to stay in business
  6. I think the likes of Nissan want something that works. Graphene or something else they won’t care as long as it makes the cars sell!
  7. That does prove a couple of things one you may have opened your eyes a bit. And 2 his graphene battery (if it was?) wasn’t very good. However graphene is made from carbon (look that up!) and there is plenty of that so I’m wondering how much I believe the guy on your video. Do you really think the likes of Nissan are going to pump hundreds of millions into something that won’t work? A few million spent to see if it works I understand but that big an investment needs to have proved itself to them first!
  8. What conifer is it? I’ve never dared take anything like that much off the sides of fear of sending it brown! Good job though. How long does it take all together?
  9. O think the other thing to remember is that li ion batteries are a 1970s concept that has been tinkered with for getting on for 50 years. It needs new thinking which is what is happening. In another 50 years there will probably be something better than these new types being brought to market now
  10. I’ll try again. Do some research these new ideas don’t have the same issues as they are a completely different way of looking at the problem
  11. Try opening your thinking to this that I’ve just found on the biggest library in the world! http:// https://www.graphenea.com/ Look up the super capacitors Edit Wes beat me too it!
  12. Gut feeling is what you preach after all you research these things and form your opinion on them. Like I said it may be some completely new form of battery that does not have these limitations. If everyone throughout time thought that progress wasn’t possible even would still be living in caves trying to catch something to eat everyday
  13. I’m sure mr musk is upset that thunderfoot has debunked his projects. Saying batteries won’t develop from today is just daft backwards thinking. People thought the iPhone was stupid and wouldn’t sell........ Someone in the not too distant future will crack some way of doing it which will probably be some completely different form of battery and it will hold loads of charge and recharge quickly and not explode it’s just a matter of time. He is right about current batteries exploding but I could have told everyone that! Intelligent people can make a case for just about anything sound sane!
  14. Plus we’re not actually leaving Europe just the EU!
  15. Ok very similar I just assumed from your lack of English going into schooling that you came here very young. The point is the same though. I’m relaxed with foreigners I’ve probably got more friends that are immigrants than are as I get on better in most cases with them. Housing everyone from wherever they have come from is the main problem in my eyes. Governments for decades have not allowed land to be built on. People moan about greenbelt but there actually isn’t that much and plenty of other space to use.
  16. Was that the local office you spoke to or the main number? Sounds stupid but the local office seems to be better to get cover from
  17. From earlier post. No taxes aren’t stealing but forcing the higher earner to pay an ever greater percentage may we’ll have the opposite effect you so crave. They may just decide to close up shop and take it with them to Monaco for example. But your stance becomes very clear with your last post and wanting to stay in the EU. I presume you have residency here and want others to have that opportunity? On the immigration side I have never really had a problem with it because it does mean that stuff that locals don’t want to do gets done and that is down to the benefit system not encouraging work enough. I’ve heard loads of people not far from me complaining that the immigrants steal their jobs but I don’t see it as employers want people who will work hard and that’s what they get with the immigrants.
  18. Not really but kept it static for 2 years so effectively lowering it a bit once inflation takes effect
  19. I’m not worried about your family particularly as I can tell from your posts that you are reasonably well off. I too am probably classed as better off than most. Why people like you think that the government should steal more from the rich when they pay far far more in tax than the general population baffles me. Maybe if they reduced the tax percentage then the rich would not try and hide so much. As for not living in the same world as us I personally don’t care but that’s a minority view I know
  20. The so called “fat cats” have been around for a lot longer than 40 years. Stop moaning about what others have got by whatever means and spend that time and energy getting some more for your family. I’m fairly sure these fat cats top one percent pay about 30% of total income tax between them.
  21. How high up was that? Looks bloody stupid to me!
  22. They treat the staff well too or did when I worked there no one on minimum wage. Training courses for anyone who wanted one, proper sick pay 6 weeks holidays and cheap holidays at any of the parcs when there was room £25 a chalet for weekend or £35 for the Monday to Friday if I remember rightly.
  23. If that were the case there wouldn’t have been a referendum because you can’t control the result, then maybe there shouldn’t be elections at all for the same reason, then maybe lock people up for speaking out against the dictatorship........
  24. You got the first bit right anyway.........
  25. The bt with fon only has the same range as your normal one. If you pass another house for example that has it you can use it if on bt yourself. There’s an app that will connect you to it more easily
